    Founded by members of Hamiruge, the Percussion Society is a student-based organization focused on education, performance, and, of course, all things percussion in the Baton Rouge area. It is open to any LSU student who wishes to join. No member is required to be a percussionist, but most members display a general enthusiasm toward the subject matter. The Society raises money to allow for guest artists, composers, and clinicians to perform or write for the group. Also, the Society holds student and faculty masterclasses and workshops for any local-area students on any level of playing.
