I love legal thrillers. I've collected all the books by John Grisham, my favorite author. I also like horror/mystery books.
About me: My friends and acquaintances call me Dani, and that’s what I prefer… although I’m open to nicknames. I’m 21 years old and have 2 sisters and a stepbrother. My older sister is 36; my younger sister is 19. I’ve never met my stepbrother.
I graduated from Northgate High School on May 25, 2006… my 18th birthday. (Greatest birthday present EVER!) I’m now a sophomore at Columbus State University, hoping to obtain a Bachelors in Accounting… maybe a Masters. I live in Columbus with my father while I attend school; I spend my summers living with my mother and stepfather in Newnan.
I’m an avid animal lover, and tend to post a lot of pictures of my pets. I have 3 dogs (Shasta, Cola, and Max), 4 cats (Charlie, Snoopy, Nitro, and Romeo), and an aquarium full of fish. To me, they’re more than just animals… they’re family. I hope in the future to make enough money to open and maintain a no-kill shelter. It might be a farfetched dream, but it’s one that I hold on to and hope to make a reality one day.
I’m a meteorology junkie who keeps up with the weather more than the news (as bad as it might sound). I would love to venture to the Midwest and chase tornadoes one day. I love thunderstorms, while maintaining a slight childhood fear of them at the same time. If you ever need someone to keep up with the forecasts, I’m the girl to call.
I, by no means, am a “girly girl.” I’m a bit tomboyish in the sense that I love video games. I’m a Mario fanatic and unashamed to admit to it. I have recently started collecting Mario figurines and plushes. I’ve played video games since I was about 8 years old.
I have ADHD. I don’t do well sitting still and am prone to changing subjects about three times in any one sentence. I also have a tendency to get distracted by shiny things, and will accidentally wander away from a group if something catches my eye. I’ve come to learn to embrace my ADHD… it makes me who I am.
When I’m not gaming, I spend a lot of time writing. I primarily write poetry, although I also scribble longer stories. (Yes, I also do write a bit of Marioverse fanfiction.) All of my poems are published online on a FictionPress account under the pen name Lucafira. I warn that my poetry is often dark, disturbed, and macabre… if this isn’t your cup of tea, you won’t enjoy my works. (You may have to refresh the page several times in order for the link to work… the site seems a bit dodgy at times.)

I underwent gastric bypass surgery on December 29, 2008. My starting weight was 236 pounds. I now weigh around 150 pounds. Here is a ticker that keeps up with my progress:
