Based out of a small town in Indiana, 7 Days away was formed in early 2006 with lead vocalist Jay Bales, lead guitarist Skylar Nichols, rhythm guitarist Zack Jackson, Bass Guitarist Blake Snoddy, and Trey Sturgeon percussion. The band has put out 2 national albums. "Death Cannot Separate"(2007) and "Stigmata"(2008). Both albums sold nationwide on iTunes, Napster, Amazon, Rhapsody, Emusic, Tunecore, Shockhound, Groupietunes, LaLa, and many more. The band has sold their albums in the U.S.A, Austraila, Japan, and Germany. Their first 2 albums produced by "Joey Sturgis". Founder of "The Foundation Recording Studio". Currently the producer of "The Devil Wears Prada" and has worked with "Adam D. from "Killswitch Engage".
With very powerful and emotional vocals, every word comes from the heart and comes out positive with a touch of hope. Explaining to never give up and never let life get the best of you. "There is always a remedy to a sickness, and every wound will heal, and our scars are our memories" says the singer Jay Bales. The sound that makes you content, and that never leaves you in the dark. The melodies take you into a world that never loses touch with the music. From a very smooth melody, into catchy courses and intense breakdowns. The band stays absolute with their drive. Concentrating on every note, every emotion, and pouring their pain into every instrument, 7 Days Away has always been able to touch their listeners in a very relatable way.
Immediately after the release of "Death Cannot Separate", the band toured for months revealing their music to the world. Their first hit single "Released" was streamed or bought through iTunes more than 9,000 times the first month up. Gaining more of the underground fan base, the band opened up for numerous national acts and got exposed in 2007 and sold thousands of albums at shows and online. The next big hit was their acoustic song "Final Cry". The track touched the wounded and helped them heal. "We always lose the ones we love but we can never forget our memories, that is something nobody can take from you, it's yours" says the singer Jay Bales. In mid 2007 "Final Cry" became more than just a track on their album; it brought a tear to their listeners. The track was about losing somebody really important in your life and finding a remedy. To accept whatever comes your way. With lyrics that came from the heart, and to never let go. "Final Cry" and along with a few other tracks got played on a few national radio stations, and the band also played “Final Cry” unplugged on G101.3.
After months of touring and promotion, it was time to get back into the studio. In mid 2008 the band did their 2nd national release of their hit selling album "Stigmata" - touched by god. After the release the band did a music video for their song "Take Me Away". Featuring the adult film star "Hannah Hilton". Their song "Take Me Away" was their hit song which put the band on the map. In September of 2008, the band entered a national contest, which over 4,000 bands entered. The judges for this contest was Lions Gate Music's president "Jay Faires and associates, and the band was hand picked by "Shaun Morgan", the lead vocalist for the band "Seether". The national contest was to have a bands song put in the brand new national motion picture "The Punisher: Warzone"(2008), and also on the soundtrack and have their song on the end credits of the movie. Shortly after being picked, the band did a live interview on X103.3 Indy's Rock Alternative, to talk about the contest and this interview was on 750+ radio stations nationwide. The soundtrack was released November 25th and it hit 16 on the billboards, and got congratulated all over the USA by different radio stations and press. The day before the movie release the band played Halo 3 with Seether, Senses Fail, and Hatebreed, Sponsored by Xbox 360. "We never thought our song "Take Me Away" would actually take us to the next level, we owe it to our fans for the support" says the band.
7 days away met their success face to face when they entered the studio in June 2008 to record their most epic album to date “Stigmata.” “Stigmata” was released in late August of 2008 bringing the hits Take Me Away and I Want You To Know, which you can both watch videos for on you tube and the bands MySpace page (Myspace.com/7daysaway)
April of 2009, Lions Gate got in contact with 7DA about putting their song in another movie made by the Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC) called "Never Surrender". 7DA's song "Take Me Away" is now in the movie "Never Surrender" set to release April 28th, 2009!
2009 is here, and the band is heading back into the studio this summer to record album number three. The band is ready to take their music and careers to the next level. In the past years the band has grown, to see music whole different way then we ever have before says guitarist "Zack Jackson". The intense drive mixed in with theory and modes and poetic lyrics of true life events, this band is rising and tends to never look back.
