About the Lifeline

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention hotline available to anyone in emotional crisis. If you need help, please dial 1-800-273-TALK (8255) and you will be routed to one of our 140 crisis centers nationwide. Call for yourself, or someone you care about. Your call is free and confidential.

In July of 2007, the Lifeline partnered with The Department of Veterans Affairs' and established a national suicide prevention hotline to help veterans in emotional crisis. Veterans can call the Lifeline number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), and press "1" to be routed to the Veterans Suicide Prevention Hotline.

Sadly, he asked me to communicate to his top 40 friends on his and Chris' page that Chris passed away 2 weeks ago today at the age of 34. As all of you know from their story which aired on Intervention on A&E, Chris fought against his addiction to alcohol for many years, but in the end, he decided to end his life and lifelong struggle. Shawn, along with both sides of families and friends are devastated, but most of all, Shawn is because he found him. Please pray for him, he is taking it very hard. He also asked me to convey that you honor Chris and his life by TELLING his story. Tell everyone you know to view their page so that they can see what an amazing couple they were and so that this doesnt have to happen to anyone else...ADDICTION DOES KILL! Honor Chris by saying something on your page or theirs. Since the services, we have received thousands of messages from people all over the world that shared different ways that thier story on Intervention on A&E touched or changed their lives.
