About 80/20 Records

80/20 Records is marketing and distribution for independent musicians. With the music industry under a major change, we feel that the way music business is handled should change too. So we are doing things differently.

What’s in a name?

The name 80/20 refers to our profit distribution. All artists receive 80% of all gross revenue, after expenses, and we keep 20% of it. So let’s say a song is purchased online for $1, you get to keep $0.80. We feel that artists are the ones who do the most work and deserve to have most of the money from their creations.
