Currently, I like stuff with a little alternative edge to it, like Augustana, the Fray and James Blunt. Of course, it almost goes without saying that David Crowder and Chris Tomlin rock!
Television
Coletta and I don't watch much regular TV, but we like to get DVD's of whole seasons of a show and splurge. We love Lost, House, Heros and, maybe most of all, The Office!
Books
I've been told that I "inhale" fiction, so I've read a lot of different authors. I really like authors who write well and spin a good yard. Stephen King does that better than anybody else I know, but he's really too dark for my comfort. David Eddings, Douglas Preston, J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis are some of my favorite authors in the fiction realm.
In the non-fiction realm, I read a lot of biblical studies materials (I'm finishing my Ph.D), but I usually prefer stuff by guys like Yancey or Schaefer. Lately I've really been impacted by John Piper.
My driving passion is to empower people to impact the world for Jesus. I count myself very fortunate to be able to do that in a number of ways, but my favorite is speaking at any event where they'll have me! Last year I got to speak to junior high kids, academic theologians, college students, international pastors, musicians youth workers and just about everybody in between.
