I am an animal lover through and through. I am into animal rescue and fostering. I currently have a one week old kitten that I am bottle-feeding and raising until he can be weened, potty trained, socialized and adopted. I am very much against declawing and believe whole-heartedly in spay/neuter to help the ever-increasing problem of pet over-population. To anyone who ever has a pet that they cannot care for or just don't want: 1)If you don't want a pet, you never should have took on the responsibility in the first place, 2)Don't just abandon your pet, they have needs just as well as you do, please call around to no-kill shelters and animal rescue shelters such as Home At Last in Salvisa, KY and Caring Hearts in Nicholasville, KY, or call me or send me a message if push comes to shove and I will do whatever it takes to help an animal in need, 3)Get your pet spayed or neutered... please, if you cannot take care of your pet what makes you think that there are not others who cannot take care of pets either? Don't help bring more animals into this world that cannot be cared for!
And remember, it takes patience, love, and responsibility to care for your animal companion. If they aren't fully potty-trained, don't hit them or yell at them, just pick them up when you catch them going and put them where they are supposed to go! This teaches them rather than scares them! You want them to learn, not to fear! They do make cleaning supplies that get the stains and smells out rather easily! AND you can get these supplies at a petstore or at walmart in the pet section!

Anyone who cares for animals in need are true heroes. Anyone who goes through a shelter or humane society to adopt a pet who truly needs a home rather than going through someone who "breeds" them just to make money is a hero. Anyone who would willingly take a minute out of their day to check on an animal on the side of the road or a stray that comes up in their yard is a hero. Anyone who spares a dollar or two to feed a hungry stray so that they don't starve is a hero. Anyone who will use a little of their gas to take a stray to a no-kill shelter instead of turning a blind eye is a hero. Remember, they may be angels, sent down from heaven to make sure that you're doin your best to help another creature in need!
