I would be FURIOUS if someone dicked around with my income and casually withheld pertinent information pertaining to my pay. Only an idiot would continue working for a company with such a severe degree of misrepresentation. I don't know of anyone who would sit idly by to get screwed - ESPECIALLY if they had kids to support.
