Happy Birthday, Young Christian Liberals! The need for Christians to powerfully and decisively express a voice in the issues of humankind--that is divorced from a literalistic and judgemental interpretation that obliterates the voices of grace, forgiveness and reconciliation is imperative! As a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church in the U. S. A. for over 28 yrs., and as a Freemason for 30 yrs., which played a major role in stimulating this interest and curiosity, including Jewish mysticism as known in the kabbalah, I can well attest to the importance of these conversations in shaping my life and giving me the progressive perspective I embrace! Indeed, before I ever thought of entering the Christian ministry, I have had a deep interest in Judaism--having been reared in a home that celebrated my ties as a Gentile with Judaism! It is reflected both in my profile and, in my friends on my "Front Page 40"! The 2nd and senseless war in Iraq, to enable America to hoard oil, stimulated my interest in Islam! And having been permanently disabled my entire life by spina bifida--and having made a permanent transition to a wheelchair in December 2001, stimulated an interest in Buddhism, and its emphasis on suffering, as part of my finishing work! Similarly, though a lifelong Presbyterian, I consider myself to be a "closet" Episcopalian--largely with its penchant on the necessary role of ritual; which has grown out of my years as a Freemason! Congratulations to Young Christian Liberals; and never lose sight as to how very proud I am of You! Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
John Edwards started the trend of turning down lobbyist money. He didnt take when he ran for senate in the 90's. He didnt take it in 2004 campaign. Obama though took it when he was running for senate. What candidate really speaks with passion. Clinton seems fake and is like a robot, and she totally is playing the card as if she is the next Margaret Thatcher. Obama is finding out and so are we that he still has alot to learn. Now Edwards on the other hand speaks with passion. He speaks from the heart. This is the first politician that has givin' me goose bumbs when he is talking about a better America. Bill Clinton Never did that, and I am a huge Bill fan. Alot of similarities between Edwards and Bobby Kennedy. People want to rip on Edwards because He has a 24,000 sqf home, He got a couple 400 dollar haircuts, he was a trial Lawyer and is a multi Millionaire. But so were the Kennedys and the roosevelts. But they never turned there back on the Poor or middle class. All of them knew where there roots were and where they came from. Edwards worked hard for everything he has had. He became a Lawyer to fight for the people against big corporate america that like to push around the little man. He has been there for us, He has done the fight for us. Now he wants to bring this fight to the world. He would bring back respect and diginity to the rest of the world. America again would be trustworthy, looked up to. Edwards has the most likeability than anyother candidate, He is the most trusted off all the other candidates. Plus people actually say he has the best chance to beat a Republican in 2008. But why is he hovering around 16% in the polls. Because right now are infatiuated with Hillary and Barak. How can you say that you trust this person more and you like them more, But I am not voting for them. Really do your research and dont let the media pick for you. Really listen closely to all candidates, Look at there policies, look at there record, Look into there eyes

I'm actually more of an atheist but I do support you guys, your beliefs and your attempt at trying to take back your religion from the fanatics who infrequently misinterpret the teachings of Jesus Christ. Its time for the religious left to stand tall and proud. I wish you luck in your quest.
