    well, as long as you gauge up using tapers, and let each gauge heal, you should be fine going to whatever size, unless you're ears have crazy amounts of resistance, and you can feel that you shouldn't go any larger.
    i'm going to 5/8ths.


    facial piercings are fine, just keep you're hands off them until they're healed, and clean them 3x a day.

    yeah, i'm not "allowed" to have facial piercings, but i do anyways.


    i have gauges, which are VERY likely to infect, but i've never had issues with them.
    i'm at 0 gauge & still going.
    just take them out every couple days, clean them. and you should be fine.
    use tapers to gauge up.
    the stainless steel is best for gauging.


    i have my belly pierced, thats high risk for infection, but i kept my hands off it and soaked it in distilled water, never got infected.


    i had my septum, which im getting again, kept my hands off it and soaked a q-tip in seasalt&water then cleaned it, that never infected.
    & i have 4 other ear piercings.

    well, i have quite a few piercings, and as far as infection, keep your hands off them, and douse them in distilled water, or seasalt & water:)
