The Choice between These Two Paths Is Dictated By the Degree of My Willingness to Believe…
It’s so difficult at times, to put ourselves, or those we love, into the hands of our Higher Power, to hold and to mold with His loving care… Invariably, we disagree with His timing and the way He goes about implementing His will for us, as well as for them. To an alarming degree do we insist that our limited and finite resources, can and should take the lead and secure what future we believe best suited for ourselves, as well as for those we care deeply for.
Unfortunately, when our plans and their intended outcomes disintegrate, as they generally do; we tend to engage in one of two defensive responses. We either continue to manipulate our surrounding environment and the circumstances which led up to them as best we can, hoping all the while that things will work out as we think it should; or we blame what we can on God, and our misinterpretation of His will for us, and for those we hold dear.
Sometimes, in contemplative meditation, I wonder if any of us ever recognize that it is our will and our behavior that inevitably hinders the manner in which He would best assist those we love, as He knows it is best for them to be loved? Taking that thought a step further, I can’t help but to wonder; just to what extent do I hinder or allow this Power, so greater that I, to influence and direct my life as He knows it should be developed?
Again, I am brought back to the humble conclusion that my journey through this human stage of existence, as well as those about me, has only just begun. In my minds eye, I reach out and touch my Higher Power, unobstructed, as He waits ever so patiently for my willingness to bridge the gap between us.
Through this conscious contact, I see this Power lovingly guiding me on a series of spiritual adventures, of which, I am willing to believe are the best and wisest choices for me…
