About me: -News-08-10-09
Hey everyone, I have been uber busy and haven't had the time to get online and mingle or update anything. I apologize and hope you are all doing well. I am scheduled to have a thyroidectomy sometime in September, so I have been inundated with doctors and such over the past few weeks. Jared and I are also planning our first trip to Disney World together for his b-day. Fun fun! I can’t wait! ^__^ Take care and know I have not disregarded any of your emails, just been swamped.
-News-10-01-08- Hey all, I'm excited to announce that I am currently working on a creator-owned 72 page graphic novel called, Pepper. It’s a tale I have aspired to do since I was in high school and I am ecstatic to finally be able to write and draw my own story. I’ll be working alongside a wonderful group of artists and writers. We are all hoping to have our own stories finished and published by late 2009. I will be putting up the pages in the photos section as I get them completed. Thanks much and have a terrific October! =)
Jessi Nelson was born in Indianapolis, IN, where she began drawing at an early age. Her first portrait was created on the top of a potato/onion bin. Her family still has it. Growing up, Jessi drew everyday. When she was in the forth grade, she won her first contest - a violin drawing competition and had the piece displayed in the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
When Jessi turned 18 she moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue a career in comics and graphic illustration. A year later, she had her first pin-up published in a comic [Dead@17: Blood of Saints no. 1]. Since then Jessi has built a list of publishing credits and professional work in both comics and in the music industry. Now, Jessi works hard on her own comic stories while taking every opportunity to fashion full-color pin-ups for eBay and commissions on request.
Jessi's sequential artwork has been featured in such comic books and CDs as:
Demon Press's Real Magicalism Vol. 1, The Night Before I Went Home Short Story (short story illustrations),
Aspen / Michael Turner's Fathom Vol. 2, no. 5 (pin-up),
Viper Comic's DEAD@17: Blood of Saints no. 1 (pin-up),
Arcana Studio's ANT no. 3 (cover),
Arcana Studio's Ezra no. 2
(pin-up),
Arcana Studio's Ezra no. 3 (cover),
Arcana Studio's Ezra no. 4 (pin-up),
Arcana Studio's Starkweather no. 2 (pin-up),
Ronin Studios' HOPE no. 1 (cover as well as a short story),
Ronin Studios' HOPE no. 2 (short story),
Comic Book Legal Defense Fund/Sky-Dog Press's MORE FUND COMICS no. 1 (letters),
CD album insert for King Midas Presents: I Got Next Volume 1 (cover and short story)
