About me:

Hi there peeps!
Well, I suppose I should start with the basics. I'm Sarah, or Sal as most people call me & I'm 22 years old. :)
I live in the north of England & I'm extremely proud of that fact. A proud northern lass, me. I live in Lancashire in a little town called St. Helens. Now, if you're like most people & are not sure where that is, then it's slap bang right in the middle of Manchester & Liverpool. :) Also, comedian Johnny Vegas comes from here too.
You can obviously see what I look like from my photo. Not exactly Kate Moss I know, but it does me ;)

As you can probably see from my page I like a moutain of stuff! But, my main loves in life are Animals, Comedy, Music & The Simpsons.
I've always been an animal lover from aslong as I can remember. I have two cats called Tiggy & Basil, a Hamster called Rita & two fish called Gordon & Timmy.
This is Tiggy: -

She's female & is 15yrs old. I've had her since she was 1yr old.
This is Basil: -

He's 5yrs old. I've had him since he was only 9 weeks old. I got him from the Cat's Protection in 2004, I was working there at the time.
They're both beautiful & I think the absolute world of both of them, they mean everything to me. They're like my children & certainly get treated like children. I'd be devasted if anything happened to eiether of them, they're the sweetest, funniest, most gorgeous cats in the world & I love them to pieces!
This is Rita: -

She's 1yr old. Just a beautiful natured little thing. My little partner in crime & "roomie!"
This is Gordon: -

He's 5yrs old now, the longest I have ever had a fish. Gorgeous little old dude who keeps truckin' on!
& This is my other fish, Timmy: -

I've only had him about a month. I rescued him from my next door neighbour who was gonna flush him down the toilet! :( He's abit timid because of living in awful conditions for months on end but he's alot more settled now & seems a much happier little fish. He's settled into my little pet family quite nicely. :)

So as you can see my animals mean the world to me & always will do. One of my dreams is to own a Husky Dog.
But I love all animals. My house would be like Noah's Ark if I had the chance. So it's only natural that I've always wanted to work with animals & am doing at this very moment.
I'm currently working as a local fundraiser for The National Animal Sanctuaries Support League (NASSL) & I also do a few hours at the Dog's Trust in Liverpool. It's took me a long while to get there, but I seem to be on track now. I was training to be a Veterinary Nurse for a few years but I botched up the first set of exams so I'm off the register now but I'm hoping to try again in the near future as that is my "goal" as they say. But I'm happy with what I'm doing for now.

After animal obsessing & cooing, my main love would be Comedy.
It's been a big part of my life ever since being very young, I'm talking 5 or 6yrs old. I grew up watching Laurel & Hardy, Harry Enfield, Reeves & Mortimer, Morecambe & Wise, Sean's Show, all sorts of old sitcoms & comedies, which corrupted my young mind into the comedy obsessed freak I am today. My Dad was the main influence, along with my sister & brother, my Mum was the one being corrupted along with me although she was the Morecambe & Wise fan. :)
I love all sorts! Mainly older stuff because quite frankly, todays comedy can be, well, let's say naff to be polite.

Well, I say that for the exception of "We Are Klang", I'm loving/slightly obsessing over their new show on BBC3. I've liked them since 2007! It's nice to see some decent new comedy for a change so yeah, they've restored my faith for abit! I love them! Greg Davies is a wonderful performer & person in general it seems & is extremely endearing & lovely to watch! & His solo stand up material is some of the best I've seen for a very long time. Steve Hall is wonderful all round & is my favourite Klang boy. His humour is more subtle, sarky & cute but in a darker kind of way which I find the funniest, I always love darker humour! Plus, I think he's bloody gorgeous! ;@) & Marek Larwood is just constantly hysterical! He has reduced me to tears with so much as an expression. That guy definately has funny flowing in his veins, it's not forced at all, just a naturally funny person & I love people like that! I'm really excited that these guys have finally broke onto the TV. They're new, fresh, extremely funny & lovely to watch & I've adored every episode of the series & can only hope that despite the petty & mindlessly nasty reviews they've been getting, that the BBC can see what gems they've got & give them a 2nd series as nothing truly wonderful is ever loved straight away. :@)

Another recent comedy I've loved is"Armstrong & Miller." They're great & I can't wait for their new series! :D

I like alot of stuff that most 22yr olds wouldn't have clue about! Which does make it hard to find people on my wavelength but I'm just proud I'm not part of the "norm" that makes today's society. I like being different. No, I love being different.
My first comedy obsession was Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer's stuff from the early 90's, my older brother & sister used to watch their stuff & I'd always watch it with them & promptly fell in love with them, even though I might have been abit too young to understand most of it. Which made Bob Mortimer my very first crush when I was just 6 years old. :@) Anyways, that first obession has never died or faltered since & I still adore them to pieces! & I can't be happier that Shooting Stars is back! We need them back!

Yes, I've liked loads of comedy in the past but Vic & Bob were always my undisputed kings of comedy, who no-one else came close to...until October 2008 of course... Enter, Monty Python!!!
Yes, October 2008 was the year I became utterly & hopelessly obsessed with Monty Python & the guys themselves. & When I say hopelessly, I mean like, under some kind of spell. After a lifetime of hints, I finally succumbed to them. My Dad was always a fan & has quoted them for aslong as I can remember, my sister loved Graham Chapman when she was younger & my brother used to love them when he was a teenager. So it all rested on me to carry it on...& it took awhile, but I got there eventually. I kept telling myself for years that I had to get into them & never did. Then last october on just a random boring day, I started watching random clips on youtube & it was just love at first sight! I adored them straight away! Then I bought the DVD's & started looking into their other work & seperate projects & thanks to them I have found so many amazing tv shows & films. They were/are immensely talented & no-one could have done what they've done. Certainly not one trick ponies! It'll only be a year in October since becoming a fan but I can't imagine life without it now. It's helped me through some dark times & helped me laugh when it seemed impossible. I owe them alot & they don't even know it.
I adore all the Python guys so much but I do have my favourites! Eric Idle would have to be my overall favourite Python, he's been my favourite from the beginning. He was the first one I got a crush on! ;@) I love him! I love mischievous, cheeky, witty people & he's the epitome of all of it! Then he would be closely followed by the lovely, late Graham Chapman. & That's a strange one, never had a crush on him or anything. I just think he's halirious & I always get the feeling that he never thought so, but he so was! I get lovely vibes from him whenever I see him & just feel drawn to him somehow, it's not like anything I've felt for anyone before, it's weird. I'm drawn to him & like him so, so much, but never know quite as to why. It always get's me thinking! :@)
& As for just plain ol' fangirling, I have a HUGE soft spot for Michael Palin! I have just the biggest, stupid crush on that man. He's such a wonderful, charming, funny, gorgeous, sweet man. He is definately my ultimate fantasy, forget yer Brad Pitts' & yer George Clooneys', give me Mike anyday & I don't care how weird that makes me sound! I would happily have his babies. ;@)
I also now fancy John Cleese a teeny bit too...so yeah, I have a reputation for being abit of a Python whore! haha!
But as I said, I love them all to pieces, lusting over or not & I'm so glad I finally got my arse into gear & got into them when I did, my only regret is taking so long to do it!
So they're on parr with Vic & Bob now & all my other comedy loves just rest nicely underneath the two. :@)

I'm also partial to stand up comedy of course. My Favourite stand up would be Sean Hughes, again through going back to the days when I was a kid watching Sean's Show! Always loved him & finally got to meet him last year. They say never meet your hero's but this certainly wasn't the case with Sean. He was a lovely, funny, kind & friendly man who took the time to have a nice long chat with me & end it with a non-requested hug! :D Other stand up faves of mine would include, Lee Mack, Eddie Izzard, Greg Davies, Jack Dee, Rhod Gilbert, Jon Richardson, Alan Carr, Frankie Boyle & Micheal McIntyre.

But there's more to me than just a comedy obsessed freak/groupie! I'm also a very big music lover. I come from a family of music lovers & grew up with a variety of different bands, artists & sounds in my ears. I basically love all kinds of music, I will give anything a go aslong as it's not Rap or R'n'B. I can't stand that stuff.
I love alot of oldies, 60's/70's & especially 80's & maybe even some stuff from before then. 80's is my fave though, probably due to the fact that I'm obsessed with that decade, despite that fact that I was only born in 1987, you work it out cos I can't! I'd say my favourite genre is Rock, I adore rock music & it's usually the older stuff I like the most like Marc Bolan, Foreigner & Jimmy Hendrix (or "Dad" music if you like), but there is alot of good rock music out there today aswell, you've just got to search. I'm also loving the electro filled 80's comeback that music seems to be going through at the moment & I am finding myself buying more & more albums, good for the ears, not for the purse. :@) I like alot of the music which is around now, we hit a rough patch a few years ago but thankfully things seem to be picking up again. As for favourite bands, only three really spring to mind & stand out to me over the rest of the stuff I've liked in the past. They would be The Cure, Kaiser Chiefs & Terrorvision. The Cure because Robert Smith is an absolute god & everything the band as ever done is just genius. I could listen to their music forever & still not be bored. If I had to choose ultimately then they would probably end up on top as my all-time favourite group band. I love them. Kaiser Chiefs because they really restored my faith in the music industry at a time when I thought all was lost. Their albums are amazing, they're great guys & alot of fab & fun memories are attached to them for me. I was totally in love with them...& still am. & Terrorvision just because they never took themselves seriously, as soon as I got into them I was blown away at what they could do. Their singer, Tony Wright is probably one of the best frontmen ever! They were always so full of energy & were just excellent at what they did. & Their recent re-union & the gig I luckily got to go to in Nottingham were just one of the best things ever!
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usFree Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usFree Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

My favourite artist at the moment is Little Boots. Her album "Hands" is just...well, words can't describe it, you'd have to hear for yourself!
So yeah, that's my music world. The only way I contribute to it myself is by playing the keyboard, which I'm getting quite good at even if I do say so myself & by singing all the time...sadly not half as good as I play the keyboard.

Anyways, after all that, the next thing people would probably say about me is that I'm obsessed with The Simpsons! & Have been since the tender age of four when my big sister bought a video of it. I still remember that first time I watched it. Instant love. I still have the Maggie Simpson figurine that my Mum bought me that very day, it's over 19 years old! It's as old as my fandom. It's definately without a doubt my longest running fandom & was probably the first thing I ever liked in general. & After all these years & after watching all the episodes a thousand/million times over, I still love it pieces & probably couldn't go a day without watching at least one episode of it. Homer Simpson is probably the greatest character created of all time. Definately a hero of mine! If he was real, I'd marry him tomorrow...no joke!
I will definately be a fan to it's end, hopefully that won't be for a long time yet but I will always love it! ♥

Well, that's my main fandoms/obsessions out of the way, so let's just finish up with some other little facts about me (you don't have to carry on reading): -

- I love films & going to the cinema, suprise suprise my favourite films are comedies but I will give anything a go really. I've watched so many films it's unreal. My all time favourite film would have to be Monty Python's: The Meaning of Life just because it's awesome & I believe it sums everything in life up in about an hour an half...not all films pocess that amazing quality. Plus, it shows the darker side of the Python's humour & it seems to me that despite my lovely, friendly nature (*winkwink* lol) I have a love for all things abit dark & mysterious... & perhaps even slightly nasty.
My all time favourite actor would be Steve Buscemi, you cannot fault that guy on any film he's done, even if the film is crap, him being in it always makes it better. Favourite actress would be Alyssa Milano & I also like Goldie Hawn alot too, she's very cute & alot of fun!

- I couldn't live without my mobile phone, laptop & iPod.

- I love my family & friends alot, despite getting annoyed at them alot of time, I'm always at my best when I'm around them. My big sister is my best friend, you couldn't get a better, more decent, thoughtful person than her & I wouldn't be anything without her!

- As I said before, I'm obsessed with the 80's decade. Everything about it, the clothes, the make-up, the hair...haha! But especially the music, I love most if not all 80's music & the first thing I'd do in the event of a time machine being invented would be to go back to 1984, not sure why, just stands out somehow. The one thing that does annoy me though is the big 80's revival now, I mean, I'm glad it's happening but it makes it look like I like it all just to be "in", well that is not the case, I've loved 80's stuff for aslong as I can remember & always will, even when it goes out of "trend!"

- I try my hardest to be a Vegetarian, doesn't always work but most of the time I'm a good veggie. :)

- I'm a Wiccan. & No, that doesn't mean I fly around on a broomstick, wearing a pointy hat with a black cat. Although two Black Cats do currently stalk me for some unknown reason. I suppose It just means I'm a very spritual person & believe in things other than what is just right under our noses. I'll admit I'm not exactly a devout but I try my best with the holidays & everything & am still in the learning process really. I'd never deal in the dark side of it, as curious as it gets me sometimes, it's just something I would never mess around with. Some things should just be left be.
It's the only faith that as ever made sense to me. Nothing seemed right to me & I didn't really want to be without a religion cos as I said, I believe in more than just what we see. Once I found the wiccan faith, I felt I had found something that suited me & the more I learn about it, the more that thought is concreted.

- My favourite colours are usually dark, passionate ones like deep reds, purples & blacks.

- I'm not girly in many ways, but I do love Jewelry & accessories, especially stuff with a skull & cross-bone on! he-he! :D
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

- I love the thought of travelling here there & everywhere. My favourite places are Blackpool & Yorkshire, I'd move to eiether one tomorrow. Places/countries I desperately want to visit are, America (mainly Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami & New York), Egypt, Canada, Paris, Brighton & various places in the midlands, that's just out of strange curiosity really.
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

- I suffer from the condition known as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS. It's by no means a positive thing but it's taught me to look after myself & I'm now actually enjoying eating healthier. I feel so much better & it was the kick I needed to start thinking of my health & eating better. I'm mentioning it on here because I know how daunting it can be when you're first diagnosed with it so I just wanna invite anybody whose suffering from it & feels like they need some advice from someone whose now managing it successfully, to message me for a chat or advice & I will not mind whatsoever.

- I'll be starting Kickboxing classes in the next few weeks, so watch out! haha ;@)

- My interest in comedy has always wanted me to try it out for myself, as silly as that sounds. I'm hoping to join some kind of drama group or something soon to fuel my interest & curiosity. I honestly think I'd enjoy it SO much!

Anyways, that's about all I can think of at the minute...thankfully for you guys ;) That's certainly most of it anyway. In general, personality wise I just like to think that I'm a (fairly) normal, decent human being who doesn't go with the flow & likes different things from the norm. I also like to think that I'm a nice, kind, friendly (maybe, funny) girlie who would be good company & a good friend. But I'll leave that upto you lot to decide, I guess. ;@) ♥

Who I'd like to meet:

- Various members of my family that I never got the chance to meet.
- Various awesome internet friends I've made over the years, you know who you all are! :@)
- Anyone who is interested in the same stuff as me.
- Anyone nice, friendly & funny who is good company.
- Fellow animal, comedy & music lovers.
- The Monty Python guys.
- Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer.
- Robert Smith.
- The voice cast of The Simpsons.
- The We Are Klang Guys.

Oh dear how awful, aw poor Sarah, I'm so sorry for you. It always happens at once doesn't it? My thoughts and hopes are with Tiggy right now, I've been there with pets with bowel and bladder probs, that's how we lost our Pip, so I know how scary and worrying it is for pet owners. Fingers crossed something can be done and it wont break the bank too much.
As for the job, what can I say? Everyone seems to be out of work at once don't they? My brother in law got laid off in the summer, started a new job with my cousin's husband and now that firm have had to lay him off and my cousin's son as well today. Jobs, or lack of em, are the bane of my life too at present. My old work should have shortlisted and interviewed for the new post now, but my old manager is in hospital so it's postponed indefinately. I've been waiting since April now.
The one bright side I can offer you is you're in a better position for work now than what you were this time last year, there's more experience on your CV now and you'll get a good reference. Its just finding the break isn't it?
    So sorry.
And you're not boring me, friends listen to the good and the bad after all. Just hope I haven't bored you!

Yeah! Love The Mighty Mac and that is a great song.
I always have friendly debates with my mate John, we both like Mac in every era, but I admire the early Peter Green stuff, all joss sticks and blues, whereas he really only likes the Lindsey Buckingham stuff, all cocaine and high power!
I think a lot of last night's doc went over old ground but it was still very enjoyable to watch. BBC4 are doing a whole night to them on Friday

It's been brilliant hasn't it?! Loved The Krypton Factor skit this week and Dennis Lincoln Park, I mean you can see the gag coming a mile off, but it's still so funny, I just chuckle and the name, hehe, LinkinPark. Easily amused me.
My fave though is Brabbins and Fyfe, I was in stitches at the song describing how he ended up in the wheelchair, to the extent that it's ben stuck in my head ever since! I was in Southport today and someone came past in a wheelchair, and there it was!
"You know that bit between your testicles and your anus?"
    I shouldn't be allowed out!

I've just heard on the radio that John Cleese is writing a musical version of A Fish Called Wanda for the stage. Hmmm looks like everyone wants a piece of the Spamalot money spinner

No it seems to have completely passed by under my radar! See even at 30 you find new/old things! Hehe

    Thanks for my card again!

This is still my favourite cover ever. I love it, it's achingly beautiful. Harriet's voice was sublime. I want this at my funeral...God that's morbid! Must be being 30!
