Welcome to the official Mary Hopkin page, run by Mary Hopkin Music
Mary's fans will know all about how she shot to fame in 1968. Twiggy, Paul McCartney, Apple, Those Were the Days, etc. So we're not going to go into that.
In the beginning of this century she unearthed some recordings that were made between 1970 and the present day. Her daughter Jessica formed Mary Hopkin Music to release them all to the public.
We released 'Live at the Royal Festival Hall 1972' in 2005. 'Valentine' followed, then 'Recollections', 'Christmas Songs' and 'Now and Then'.
Mary's latest release will be out on 25th October. Co written and produced with her son, Morgan Visconti, "You Look Familiar" marks a change of style that will be new to Mary's fans but displays Mary's current tastes and strengths.
Mary has done some interviews lately but they involved lots of wheedling and negotiation (with Mary that is, not with the media!) You can hear them here. Bear in mind though that the lack of autographs, personal appearances, gigs, TV and tours continues.

Mary has worked with many fine musicians including Danny Thompson, Ralph McTell, Brian Willoughby, Tony Visconti, Pop Arts String Quartet, Benny Gallagher, Bruce Lynch, Morgan Visconti... too many to name here but all fine people.Sounds Like:
Mary Hopkin. Draw your own comparisons. Just be warned that Mary doesn't always sound like she did on TWTD and is always experimenting. Keep an eye out for new albums to hear what she can do.Record Label:

Bio
Mary's fans will know all about how she shot to fame in 1968. Twiggy, Paul McCartney, Apple, Those Were the Days, etc. So we're not going to go into that. In the beginning of this century she unearthed some recordings that were made between 1970 and the present day, and her daughter Jessica formed Mary Hopkin Music to release them all on Mary's terms (no world tours, no TV appearances, constant supply of tea when recording). We released 'Live at the Royal Festival Hall 1972' in 2005 . 'Valentine' followed, then 'Recollections' and 'Now and Then'. Mary is now unstoppable in the studio and the newest release is a fantastic album co written and produced with her son, Morgan Visconti. Out on 25th October 2010, it's a massive departure from anything you think Mary would do. Mary has done some interviews lately but they involved lots of wheedling and negotiation (with Mary that is, not with the media!). The lack of autographs, personal appearances, gigs, TV and tours continues If you would like to buy any of Mary's albums on the Mary Hopkin Music label, please visit our Buy page at maryhopkin.com where you can use our shopping cart. -
