88 Topaz is a reggae based rock band from Milton, MA consisting of Jake Sheptyck, Chris Hamilton, Seamus Hill and Matt Strunk. The band formed in April 2006 and the Topaz crew continues to rock today. Originally a very Sublime-esque style band, Topaz has evolved to incorporate a very wide variety of genres, including punk, blues, jazz, funk and hard rock, but they always stay true to the reggae/ska roots that brought them together in the first place. The guys strive to make their shows enjoyable by creating a fun atmosphere of impressive musicianship, positive grooves and goofing around. With an impressive repetoire of original tunes and a nice selection of covers, Topaz plays frequently in the Boston area and New England. If you get the chance, come on out and check out one of the shows. You won't be disappointed!
