I love the 1950s, dressing up, gin, rockabilly, live music, history, old buildings, shiney things, vintage glamour.
Music
The list is endless... but then I probably only say this because I really can't be bothered to list every band and every song I like. Mainly and in no particular order: rockabilly, rock n' roll, blues, hillbilly, Las Vegas grind, surf, western swing, gypsy manouche.
I really wish that bands that I blatantly would have no interest in would stop adding me (in the deepest darkest depths of your soul you know who you are).
Movies
Mainly old films from the 40s & 50s. The Girl Can't Help It, Some Like It Hot, Gi Gi, The Third Man, Lili, Sabrina, Ealing comedies, Buffalo 66, Stand By Me, True Romance, Back to the Future, Lost Boys, Goonies, Amelie, Walk The Line, Tim Burton, Crybaby. Too many to list and there really isn't the time, there's probably some essay I'm supposed to be writing right now! I like Johnny Depp and Joaquin Phoenix...I admire them greatly for their acting abilities
I love Dogfight...
........
Television
Springwatch, You Rang me Lord, Allo Allo, Black Books, Love Soup. I loved Toby Amies' Alternative Nation. Sherlock Holmes. Jem! (She's truely outrageous)
........
Books
Mainly course books, at the moment I'm studying film & television history...allegedly.
Heroes
Marilyn Monroe, Jane Mansfield, Bettie Page, Audrey Hepburn, Debbie Harry, Mamie Van Doren.

I'm quite partial to pirates and any glamorous, peculiar and mysterious historical figures.
I'm shy, I love the 1950s, burlesque, going to gigs, old films and old buildings. I tap dance badly but I give good guided tours. I leave everything until the last minute, except for planning outfits and buying dresses, shoes, handbags and make-up, in which case you'll be amazed at how organized and thorough I can be. Maybe it was the shoes that got me into tap dancing. I'm prone to sarcasm. My dancing often leads to much embarrassment. I should exercise a little more and drink a little less...but how dull would that be. Old drunk tramps sometimes shout 'Alice!' at me and laugh, I think they're referring to Alice in Wonderland but you never can be sure. I'm a lapsed vegetarian. I have two cats. I can't stand lies. I have a phobia of wax works and some shop dummies, not all; it depends on how shifty they look and how brave I'm feeling. I particularly don’t like the ones in Marks & Spencers that lean over the escalators, leering, there's got to be a reason why they're waiting up there. Prefers tea to coffee, preferably Yorkshire Gold, not weak!
TIP: I find it tastes better if your tea cup matches your dress.

A few weeks ago I backed up Don Woody at the 1st Rockabilly Bash. I did that with the Tri-Tones from Estonia. Here’s a video clip with his song “Barkin’ Up The Wrong Tree”.
At the same evening I released my 2nd album ‘Mixed Up”. I recorded this album with The Neva River Rockets from Russia, the Tri-Tones from Estonia and did two duets with U.S.A singer Karling Abbeygate.
The Rubber Room presents a Night of Crazed, Derranged, Psychotic and downright Degenerate Halloween Spookiness.
We will be dressing the room up and projecting vintage monster edits through the night as well as spinning some of the strangest and most disturbed 45s in our collections. Alongside the usual mix of blues stompers, rockabilly, sixties garage and frat, surf instros and rock'n'roll.
Hope you can make it!
