LITTLE RIVER BAND – Help is on its way
Australian band formed in 1975 and I loved them! My favourite track I couldn’t locate is ‘Home on a Monday’ with the famous line ‘Can you guess where I’m calling from, The Las Vegas Hilton”. When I stayed at the Vegas Hilton I HAD to play this and it give me a kick!
STEELY DAN – Any Major Dude
Great track from the nemesis of The Eagles, Steely Dan with Donald Fagen and Walter Becker (“they stab it with their Steely knives but they just can’t kill the beast”). I love this particular track as much as 'Rikki don’t lose that number' which is probably the most popular one of all I imagine.
PETER FRAMPTON – Show me the Way
As a teenager I had ‘Frampton Comes Alive’ on vinyl and this was my favourite track with his ‘talk box’ effect that Ijust thought was the best thing I’d ever heard!
DOOBIE BROTHERS – Listen to the Music
Michael McDonald et al! Just classic 70’s fare.
BOBBY WOMACK – Across 110th Street
This song got into my head again when I watched American Gangster again and it just got under my skin so much I had to include it!
ROXY MUSIC – Love is the Drug
Oh that army shirt. I wanted one badly and finally found one in an army surplus store but it had to be the right colour with the right stripes like one Bryan Ferry wore on TOTP. Oh the folly of youth….
