8 Switch is comprised of some of the cities hottest young players combining talent and creativity with an unmatched love for performing to create a truly unique show.
The live shows seem to gain momentum as the band flexes their improvisational muscles and gives the audience a memorable and exciting experience that can only be described as an 8 Switch party. 8 Switch's music keeps audiences coming back for more of that 8 Switch sound.
On their new self titled album 8 Switch utilizes diverse musical backgrounds of it's members. Smattering all their songs with a unique, tight and funky foundation, the band artfully jams it's way through multiple genres including ska, southern funk, and hip hop.
All the members contribute to the song writing and arranging process, and the members' varied musical backgrounds and experiences help make 8 Switch's repertoire eclectic and fresh.
8 Switch has the rare combination of tightness and improvisational fluidity that creates solid precise grooves that can turn on a dime into something completely fresh and new, and keep audiences on the floor dancing all night.
The individual members have been active in the music scene by playing, recording, jamming, or sharing the stage with such artists as Root City Band, Corey Stevens, Dr. Mambo’s Combo, Jelly Bean Johnson, Heatbox, Bobby Vandell, Willie Walker, Billy “Big Daddy” Cade, Jesse Lang, Desdamona, Omar Bliss, members of the Steve Miller Band, the Funk Brothers and many others from the twin cities and around the nation.

I just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy Sunday! I hope that the weekend brought you fun adventures, relaxation, and contentment :)
I was going to go camping this weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Anyways, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a series of one time only performance art pieces. This one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". Live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.
Here's the info:
Blood Root Mother - "An Object to Crave" w/ The Magnetrons & Thought Thieves Friday, October 16th Station 4 201 E 4th St St Paul, MN 55101 9pm / $5 / 18+
Heads up to jazz groups, funk banks, or anyone looking to capture a great live record – I’m pulling out my 16 channel mobile recording rig to grab great records anywhere. Play for a night, have Signaturetone mix and master, and out pops a full album. Fast turnaround for fast times, my friends.
Who wants to be next? Get in touch now for booking.
when did you guys become one monstrous switch as opposed to an assembly of switches? or is it 8 switches? 8 switches who are not quite assembled, rather just lying around lazily in a semi-organizational pattern. WOAH. now i'm just confused.

Hey fellow St. Paul-ians,
We'd like to spread the word about a cool new gig we have at the Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar in Lowertown, St. Paul. We'll be playing each Wednesday around 7PM and will be bringing in inspired bands, poets, speakers, and more, each week as guest performers with us. The first one is January 21st, and is all ages each week. Thanks! - Graham (http://www. blackdogstpaul. com/events/news-109. shtml)
