My name is Jim Durkin,
I am married to the most beautiful girl in the world. Karin. I have four wonderful daughters, Kandace, Leah, Shaina and Krystal
I had cancer when I was 13 years old.
My first night home after having my stomach cut open to see how far the cancer had spread I was lying in bed and a song popped into my head.
Words and music complete.
I knew nothing about music at the time so I just wrote down the words and figured I would remember the melody.
I layed back down and thought "That was weird!"
Ten minutes later another song popped into my head, a very different and dark song.
I thought "That was wierd!"
This kept happening.
A couple of years later I bought myself a guitar from a grocery store and taught myself.
A couple years after that I bought a synth and taught myself the keyboard.
I have been writing ever since then.
I was at Starbucks last summer and some kid asked me to teach him something on his guitar.
So I did.
He asked to hear one of my songs.
So I showed him.
Someone heard me and offered me a job performing at a coffee shop.
A week before my first show someone stole my guitar with every song I ever wrote in the case.
I performed in public last summer for the first time ever.(I am now 46)
I've done more then 50 shows in the last year.
I hope you enjoy the music.
I will be putting new stuff up as I get it recorded.
