About me:
Over the years, my craft has evolved into a creative art form which pays tribute to the music and musicians I love.My paintings and shrines utilize mixed media, adding a textural component to my creations.
Though my style is often referred to as "outsider art," my work reflects my true admiration for the subjects I portray.
I grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas and began playing music in the mid sixties. Local AM radio station played a mix of blues artists with the top 40 songs of the day and opened the door to my discovery of an art form I grew to love. After living for a short time in Nashville, I moved to Austin in 1975. From 1981 to 1983 I was a staff songwriter for Island Records. In 1987 I toured the Soviet Union with a group of musicians, artists and journalists, performing in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad), Moscow and Kiev.
My wife Deborah and I moved to Los Angeles in 1989 where I worked for A&M Records until 1997 and then we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2004. Currently my work is being featured at locations throughout the US.
