94 AURORA is a modern rock band based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The three-piece, consisting of Andy Kent, vocals and guitar, Carnie, on Guitar and Kenny Ross on drums, formed in October 2005.

Influenced by American bands such as Foo Fighters, Green Day, Blink-182, Fenix Tx and Nirvana, and by hardworking British bands of the late 90’s including 3 Colours Red, Ash and My Vitriol, 94 AURORA provides a welcome break from the typical ‘indie’ sound that currently dominates the UK music scene.

The members of 94 AURORA have worked hard to create a large online following and are now well known in Edinburgh’s underground live music scene. After playing a number of highly successful self-promoted shows at Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire and Club Ego in late 2006 the band took a break from playing live to record their debut four track EP and to allow front man Andy Kent to concentrate on completing his degree from Heriot-Watt University.

In August 2007, after some delay, the 94 AURORA EP (also known as 'Hospital EP') was finally released. Critically acclaimed, the track 'Hospital' from the EP has received airtime on multiple occasions on national radio, including appearances on both Martin Bate's and Jim Gellatly's shows on XFM Scotland.

94 AURORA made a return to gigging in November 2007 playing their first show in almost 12 months at Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire. In February 2008 the band performed at a charity show, raising funds for VSO at Studio 24, Edinburgh. The bands return to playing though was short lived due to recurring "bass player related" problems that have plagued the band since the end of 2006.

In May 2008 the 94 AURORA were invited to play at the first Lilenzic Festival, held in i'Isle sur la Sorgue, PACA, FRANCE. This was the welcome break that the band had so badly needed and deserved, giving them the chance to play alongside top European bands such as Les Suprêmes Dindes and the awesome Babylon Pression!

Edinburgh is no place for a 'proper' modern rock band, but thanks to their determination, hard work and never give up attitude 94 AURORA have achieved a great deal, and they have done it with everything working against them.
