enticing words/sounds into u. and asking when u have a minit are words more than sounds? they cain't be better than. but are they As Good? as sounds?
one of many Patchen silskreens on loan from Trumbull Art Guild, Warren, OH:
this from Kenneth Patchen's Saturday Night at the Parthenon::: """"Tiny green birds skate over the surface of the room. A naked girl prepares a basin with steaming water, And in the corner away from the hearth, the red wheels Of an up-ended chariot slowly turn.""""
levy lives!
the bells of the Cherokee ponies
i thought they were
wind chimes
in the streets at night
with my young eyes
i looked to the east
and the distant ringing
of ghost ponies
rose from the ground
Ponies Ponies Ponies
(the young horse becomes
a funny sounding
word)
i looked to the east
seeking buddhas to
justify those bells
weeping in the darkness
The Underground Horses
are rising
Cherokee, Delaware, Huron
we will return your land to you
the young horses
will return your land to you
to purify the land
with their tears
The Underground Horses
are rising
to tell their fathers
"in the streets at night
the bells of Cherokee ponies
are weeping."

Rabbits Over Clevyland '06, The Laughing Mimeo Rolls! Video by Kurt Fisher

.. A poetic fest produced by Bree Bodnar and S.A. Griffin, "Rabbits Over Clevyland" took place in Cleveland October 27-29, 2006, consisting of poetry, music, film and bookmaking. Green Panda Press, Rose of Sharon Press, Bottom DogPress, Deep Cleveland, Bottle of Smoke Press got their ink in it & hosts included Prosperity Social Club, Mac’s Backs Books on Coventry and Gallery 324.
The purpose of the fest was to celebrate community among friends and fans of the late d.a. levy.
levy was a renegade poet and publisher in Cleveland during the mimeo revolution of the late 1960’s. He was a torch-bearer for the underground poets and publishers of today. Poets, publishers, archivists, film directors, artists and friends of levy gathered in levy’s hometown on the anniversary of his birthday to read and share what yet ignites the flame.
This spot also wishes to recognize lifetime publisher and poet Sir Tom Kryss who continues to draw his rabbits in our skies. rjs who is currently growing a full head of black hair is a fellow of Kryss, and together they printed 1,000 copies while subsisting on bread pudding he made from day-old loaves from Davis Bakery. Not to mention Steve Ferguson, who quietly writes his poems, and plays sweet music, after his hero Steven Collins Foster over Sunday brunches in Cleveland; Teacher Jake Marx who traverses Ohio between Lowell's farm & Grace Ave. Jim Lang who shot the Madison covers, helped establish Coach House in o Canada, and prints a monthly mag called Split Whiskey. and the too many to mention Cleveland poets whose history we call the Mimeo Revolution.
currently there is a Kenneth Patchen fest in the works. It will take place April 13th-14th 2007, readings, jazz, Patchen's art on exhibit, o my.

Thank you for the add. Levy was a great american poet.
I wish I could have been there. levy rules.
Nothin I cld write wld do much fer what went on
This weekend….mr. Griff took us by storm. His magic
Was no secret, his birthday cake and charm. A slick
Hill a poets id sled down any old time. Publishers
Hawkin wares for the sake of all that levy once
Sought:::::a persistent love chase. A truth catalog.
An overturned cart from which fled exotic birds
And extint species of flowers. Water that turned to
Red bull. Thirteen rodeo clowns. Nonsense making
Lots of sense. Kids and elderlies the same. Asphodel
Painted on the door. Vergin erotica, no doubt.
There was a tractor, and a budoir. We all drove a
Leg, and folded eachother’s clothes neatly.
Ima bet we got enuff fire burning to not require
The re-orderings of coal anyplace, till the next
Year’s party burns us some more. Copious Amts.
Of EVERYTHING!
we TOTALLY rocked that shit. Can I get a FUCK YEAH!?
