About me:
Laura Luna’s
“Tierra Firme”
Un homenaje a Gay Garcia.
In one of our many conversations, Gay, referred to my work as
arte firme.
I dedicate this exhibition to him, my mentor and friend…
For me, arte firme is art that is intended to remain not only
through its concept but through its actual existence.
Because of its permanence and capacity to endure, bronze
is one of my preferred sculptural mediums. Each figure in this series
contains an autobiographical narrative of not ,about my life.
My art is my home; epiphanies have found me changing diapers,
slicing onions, and uncovering insurmountable beauty in tiny
imperfections. Through my drawings, I invite you to share fragments
of these ordinary dreams.
