Bands and musicians that I adore: Dave Grohl, Merz, Saves The Day, Incubus, Muse, Jeff Buckley, Nick Harper, Queens Of The Stone Age, Dave Matthews Band, Elliott Smith, not so much influences as what I listen to but then I listen to whatever I haven't got bored of yet.
Poetry helps aswell if you're gonna be writing songs, I like Plath and T.S.Eliot and Rumi
Sounds Like
"like a white Corrine Bailey Rae!"......"a female Jack Johnson!"
Hey. I'm Rosie, not to be confused with the other Rosie Smith of Cradle of filth, this is a totally different style of music! I'm a 21 year old singer-songwriter and I play all the instruments on my debut album 'Guilty Consumer' (okay, not the saxophone). I live in Cornwall, UK, where the sun shines...sometimes.
I record in my home studio in my back garden where there are many large spiders. This can be problematic when recording, as access to drumkit/mixing desk can sometimes be barred by said spiders.
I write songs about people and stuff. I don't scream into the microphone. But maybe that's something I'll try next time...
GUILTY CONSUMER is available now, you can order a copy by emailing me: rosie_9pointed@hotmail.com or visiting http://cdbaby.com/cd/rosiesmith where you can also review me should you wish. Happy listening!
Hey, As i was just telling some friends, there's nothing like a bit of music from Rosie Smith to brighten up a boring Monday afternoon stuck inside revising for exams. LOL. How are things my lovely?
A wonderful musician, singer, writer, and person. I love hanging about and gigging with you. Let's do it soon...when the 'crunch' is o-ver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xo

Rosssssssssssssiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeee, I miss you so bad! School break has turned into a bit of a boys club, but Mrs Lukavu looks after me by bringing me out my cuppa while I'm on duty. I love your photo- it's so green! I'm busily trying to finish reports but feel it may just be yet another rush job! Say g'day to the fam for me. Anytime any of you need a trip down under you always have a bed, or a floor, or a table...computer says 'no'! (Brain shutdown- Goodbye!)
