Bio
...... .. .. .. The Wherewithals originally started as a project between singer/songwriter Ben Firestone and guitarist/vocalist John Paul Longenecker in September of 2005. Originally from South Bend, IN by way of Chicago, Ben moved to Portland in the summer of 04' and met John Paul through work and became friends. When Ben's longtime friend and musical collaborator Chuck Townsend moved to Portland shortly after, it was only a matter of time before Sean McCormick and Stacey Roesberry filled out the lineup, making Ben and John Pauls rough songs into the melodically textured creations they are today. .......... .. ...... .. Thanks for being friends with Fair Trade Music PDX! As you know, we're still gathering intelligence about how venues in town are treating their bands. So far, the story's not too good, but a few of them looks like they might be willing to man up and pay musicians some kind of guaranteed minimum wage - the kind that is the law for dishwashers, janitors, bartenders, and every other service worker in the club. Help us identify those venues! If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to complete our online survey. It’s completely anonymous, incredibly simple, and is essential to moving Fair Trade Music into the next level of venue implementation.
The survey is at: http://fairtrademusicpdx.org/?q=node/275
It’s a cliché because it’s true – WE CAN’T DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP!
Thanks, and Solidarity,
Fair Trade Music PDX
