Some people who consider themselves animal lovers really do WANT to love animals, they just don't know now. Here are some things you may not have thought about when it comes to really loving animals.
*Declawing is animal abuse. Just don't do it. God gave cats claws for many reasons. Declawing a cat is like cutting off the first inch of your fingers! Not cool.
*If you think you LOVE animals by getting a dog from a breeder or pet store, think again! This causes more harm than you think. If you love animals and you want a pet, adopt one! There are so many that are homeless and would give anything to cuddle with you every night! Buying from a pet store or breeder encourages those people to breed more animals. Breeding more animals means more shelter deaths. Save a life and adopt from a shelter! Encourage those around you to boycott breeders and pets stores too.
*Boycotting bad companies like Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Colgate/Palmolive, are things you can do to really eliminate animal cruelty. These companies use animals for testing. Causing them injuries, life long captivity and often times death. Research what companies test on animals and get educated. Ignorance is no excuse. Don't give your money to people who use animals as scientific experiments!
*If you find yourself saying "God put animals here for us to eat", "Where is the meat?", "Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving with out meat!", or "I can't get full with out meat.", you may have a meat addiction. Yes, you can be addicted to meat. How much can you really love animals when you are eating them!? If you call yourself an animal lover, better go veg and prove it. Otherwise, stop saying you love animals.
*Cruelty to animals is unacceptable. I won't support it and neither should you. Join the compassionate, educated people who are boycotting the 2008 olympics!!
*Circuses are no fun for the animals. Don't teach your kids that it's ok to use animals for fun or support cruelty. Boycott circuses and educate those around you that it is animal abuse.
*Also known as McShit, McCruelty and McDeath. Save animals and your figure, boycott McDonalds!
*By supporting organic farmers, you are sending out a message that you want things to be done the right, natural way. Non organic farmers use hunters for population control. Basically, letting hunters shoot deer, rabbits and other animals so that they don't eat the crops. Go organic. For you and the animals.
