9FIRE is a heavy rock trio from North Central Ohio. The band was formed in 2002 by Mike Risner(guitar/vocals) and Adam Baker(drums). With the addition of David "Fish" Shirey on bass in 2004, the current lineup was complete. 9FIRE released a 4 song demo in 2004. That demo garnered radio airplay on Mansfield radio station The Fox 102.3 FM and lead the way to an opening slot for national recording artists Byzantine. The band was also featured in the book NEW WAVE OF AMERICAN HEAVY METAL by Gary Sharpe Young, published by Zonda Books(Check it out here: http://www.rockdetector.com/default,386.sm). The band released a full length CD in 2007. This CD also received local radio airplay and led to many opening gigs for national acts such as Switched, Hydrovibe, and Buckcherry(well, almost...the weather didnt cooperate for the Buckcherry gig and 9FIRE was cut at the last minute). The band is currently booking shows for the remainder of the year and is also in preproduction for the next CD. Many new songs are already in the works.
