This is the official MySpage page for A.Davis Guitars. Our official website www.ADavisGuitars.com is currently receiving an total update.
A.Davis Guitars is an acoustic guitar company based in San Diego, CA where luthier Arthur Strum Davis has built and repaired guitars since 1978.
From 1986 through 1997, Art further honed his craft as a luthier for Taylor Guitars. Leaving Taylor and a steady paycheck was brutal at first and it soon became a blessing. The freedom to explore solutions to unclaimed problems is the heart of A.Davis Guitars as evidenced by this Y2K press release:
Art Davis set out to create the most player friendly, studio-worthy and performance-ready acoustic guitar possible - "The lightness in construction gives my guitars their warmth and liveliness. It's the precedent setting top bracing that provides their punch and sustain.
The gentle curves, well-proportioned bodies and neck angle geometry create the balance of volume, tone and strength," says Davis. "I've found a way to do all of this without compromise; something I never thought could be done."
A.Davis Guitars has spent the past several years forming relationships with artists. Session players. Touring guitarists. Singers and songwriters. Producers. Those in the industry that make their living writing, recording and/or performing. Their input helps us constantly fine-tune the guitars and our way of “doing business”.
Our guitars are handmade and we custom build to specifications generated by our clients. Because of our attention to detail and high standards, only so many can be produced annually. This gives us more time to find the guitar that is “yours”. If you're playing a sold out venue or to a room full of friends, recording at Abbey Road versus at home with Pro Tools; you're getting the same quality instrument and personal attention we give the best in the business.
Our new, top notch website will include our array of guitars, more on what A.Davis Guitars is all about and how we're going to connect with elite guitarists in search of their ideal acoustics.
Please check back for the unveiling of www.ADavisGuitars.com in June of 2008. In the interim, watch some recent videos featuring friends of A Davis enjoying our guitars.
Questions about our acoustics? Email us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Get ready. Something incredible is about to happen...
