A Friendly Takeover began their journey in the wild world of music in September of 2005, in Blacksburg VA. The band spawned from the Daniel Riddick Solo Project which had proved successful the year before. "People were showing up in large numbers, listening, and loving it…" says Daniel. "…and I felt like I had to take it to the next level." That's where fellow guitarist and vocalist Easton Taylor, drummer Stefan Skeeter, and bassist Big Tony fit in. Riddick, Taylor and Skeeter met on a study abroad program in Switzerland. The three instantly collaborated and created many of the songs A Friendly Takeover fans have grown to love today. "I met Tony after one of my solo gigs, and he mentioned something about playing the bass…" recalls Riddick. "…the rest is history."
After only a short time of mesmerizing and energizing Virginia Tech Students with the melodies of A Friendly Takeover, they have already packed all of the top venues in Blacksburg and are looking to the horizon for more. Acoustic rock splashed with electric groove can (in a VERY broad way) describe the feel of A Friendly Takeovers show. We hope to see you out so you can see for yourself…

On Monday 4th June 2007 between 1.30pm and 3.45pm a rehearsal for Liverpool’s Big Sing will be held at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral. Thirteen schools from Merseyside will be represented by their choirs to sing a new charity song called Warchild.
The song Warchild originally written by musician /actor Chris O’Neill, from the award winning film Backbeat, where he played the part of George Harrison. After seeing the plight of starving children shown on the ITV programme This Morning, when they were raising awareness for the charity Warchild.
The new recording will be available for a very small charge on download from www.indiestore.com/chrisoneill. For every £40 pounds made from these proceeds, incredibly, we can feed a child for a whole year who has been orphaned by Aids in Africa! A very small price to pay to save a child’s life. Peace and love to you all Chris.
If you are a girl 18 or older, the show is free for you on Friday night at Attitudes in Blacksburg, VA. Hope to see you there! Remember to wear Maroon and Orange in remembrance of those lost on monday.
Friday, April 20, 2007 8:00 PM Attitudes Bar & Cafe Blacksburg, VA $5.00 or free if you are a girl 18 +
