Imaginative songwriting with an energetic, yet refreshing sounding guitar fused with his unique vocals makes Stoke-on-Trent based Ant Mayer one of the undiscovered original songwriters of today With a mix of energized modern acoustic rock/blues welded with brain etching riffs, often awash with leanings towards the progressive. Former lead singer/rhythm guitarist for The Circle Circus for five years, during which time The Circle Circus built up quite a large following, playing to many a sell-out crowd touring with the likes of Supergrass, The Electric Six, Arthur Lees Love, Kasabian, Keane, Razorlight, Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, The Duke Spirit, Shed Seven and The Bluetones and spent most of 2004 on a sell-out tour with Pete Doherty and The Babyshambles where Ant also supported Pete on his 2004 solo acoustic tour.
They released their first single Conscience song in November 2004 with Look Outside as the B-side on their own label Red Means Go with the help of Matt Bates and 1234 Records, distributed by Cargo.
Shortly after the release The Circle Circus disbanded.
Ant decided to forge ahead with his solo acoustic career and has since been constantly writing and gigging, supporting the likes of Steven Fretwell, Nick Harper and We are Scientists. Steadily building up a reputation as one of the most exciting and original performers in the area and currently has an 8 track cd available at gigs.
Our UK autumn tour has now started and our show incorporates the whole range of classic Pink Floyd from Barrett, through Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here, to The Division Bell This year's dates celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Wall as well as featuring a special performance of the iconic tracks Echoes.
