Starting with a handful of innocent jam sessions amongst hall mates at college, A Sound Decision has finally emerged as a new, upcoming band in the Capital District.
Hallmates Brandon Morrison, Nathaniel Schied, and Scott Milici, all music majors at The College of Saint Rose, began innocently jamming in September of '06. It took them a whole year and a half, however, to realize that this could actually become something. With the addition of Morrison's younger brother and his former bandmate Tim, the band began to buckle down, started writing music and getting the name and music out. In late April of 2008, A Sound Decision opened up for rock band Eve 6 at their college's spring event "Rose Rock." Looking around the crowd, it was difficult to find anyone not smiling, dancing or just enjoying the music. Even after the success of "Rose Rock," somehow, summer managed to be an unproductive time for the band, and also resulted in guitarist Nathaniel Schied's resignation from the band to continue with other musical endeavors.
With the addition of the Morrison brothers' former band mate Scott Watson on guitar, the fire of A Sound Decision had been rekindled. The following months unveiled more original material and a tight performance. A Sound Decision was finally ready to start gigging regularly. With success from many New Paltz and Albany bars the guys were determined that this was it, something magical. The band was then faced with fellow brother, friend and band mate, Tim's resignation. ASD then recruited their close friend and Scott Milici's former band mate, Jamiles Lartey as the backbeat of the band. The band has since then been playing out regularly all over the state of New York and is branching out into Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Keep your ears and eyes open for A Sound Decision coming your way!
