At the tender age of 17, most are worried about prom, graduation, and even college; all very important aspirations and milestones in the life of any typical teenager. Grammys, #1 Hit Singles, music videos, and record deals are usually fleeting dreams and far-fetched hopes; yet there is one 17 year-old girl who is willing to chase those dreams down and overtake them! Her name is Alessandra Castronovo. Alessandra is bit of an anomaly. Singing since the early age of 3, she's always kept it to herself. She would practice quietly in her room or just singing along with the radio. This secret was exposed the day her mother asked if the amazing voice she heard was the radio blasting. Alessandra's response was, "No mom. That's me." Fast-forward to 14 years old, and Alessandra has taken that gift farther than she could imagine. Beginning under the tutelage of a host of legendary singer/songwriters, Alessandra learned the ropes to becoming a vocal powerhouse by incorporating the technique, style, and flair of some of her greatest inspirations like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, and Alicia Keys. By the time she turned 17, she'd already begun performing at legendary open mic spots such as the Village Underground, Gospel Uptown, and more. Most recently, Alessandra began a flourishing relationship with BlockStars Production Studios and completed her first EP entitled Beautiful You. It was with BlockStars that Alessandra says she found her musical home. With a likewise feeling, BlockStars is now embarking on taking Alessandra to the next level by working on more original material to place her in the league of some of today's biggest artists! A gifted singer, a shy demeanor, and a drive that rivals some of the best, Alessandra is poised to take over the music industry by bringing not only the vocal talents that divas are made of, but also the humility and confidence that comes along with it.
