Mission Statement
Is confusion the only thing you get out of your classes? Most of the time, a poor grade in the entire class is a result of not understanding a single concept. Hi. My name is Alex. With over 7 years and 4000 hours of experience tutoring students of all ages and academic abilities, I am confident we can work together to ensure your academic success! I am NTA certified as a Professional tutor with a BS and BA from the University of Connecticut.
How I Tutor and What I Offer
My tutoring philosophy focuses on short-term goals and long-term goals. With respect to short-term goals, I teach the practical aspects of the subject: 1) making sure you pass your exams; and 2) discovering how you will apply this information in your future career. We'll get to the bottom of your academic troubles by addressing, confronting, and (ultimately) strengthening your areas of weak academic performance. With respect to long-term goals, I wish to instill wisdom to students so that they may become wise, mature, respectful, and (most importantly) happy adults. Along with tutoring, I offer the following:
- Free Tutoring via my Myspace Blogs
- Individualized Lesson Plans
- Detailed Student Progress Reports
- Test and Note Taking Strategies
- Power Point Presentations
- Access to Academic Journals
- Tips to Finance your Education
- And even Educational Board Games!

Hi Alex! You ask what my motivation is for doing what I do Artistically.
Yet your comment is exactly what my response would be. The pursuit of happiness. I am never as happy as when I am lost in something creative that invloves just me and the experience of creating. I have strived to create work that represents my unique experiences in this world and my unique way of creating a physical visual image. I am an Australian of mixed heritage. Neither white nor black. I have dwelled in in Rural and Urban settings. Lived in the dessert lands and on the coast of the beautiful continent.
Nothing external to yourself can ever really make you happy. Most people, I believe, search for happiness in all the wrong places. It has to be found in something that a person does that is his bliss. Most people give up looking for this too early and end up feeling empty by their thirties.
What you do is very creative and I know (as a teacher) very rewarding.
I will try and locate that particular image but I would have agree that in the "Pursiut of Happiness"; there are many mirages.
I created a new Fun Stuff contest in Fun Stuff group. Starting May members will post something funny, a joke, a pic, a video, or your own adventures and then we’ll all vote for the funniest post. The winner will get $25 coupon that s/he can use at our Amazon store and other affiliates. Am I going to see you there? Let’s have fun! Link: http://friends.frogirm.ca/welcome.html

A Radiohead fan???? How preposterous...where did you get that idea? LOL...of course I'm a fan. The only difference is that I'm not homesick because I don't even know what planet I came from.
Here’s to 2008 – A year we opened hearts and minds. And to a 2009 filled with health, happiness, progress, accessibility, and inclusion - where ALL children can live, learn, and play together. Where kids can be kids… together.
Thanks for supporting Inclusive Education and Autism Awareness! As always, our DVD is available for purchase. Please watch and share - our kids are growing up with a profound understanding and acceptance of difference. And you’ve got to see it to believe it.
Oh...the lady in the link I posted below...I started watching her I think around lecture 12. Or...that may have been ch. 12 in my book! I don't remember...but she was excellent going over the derivation of Michaelis Menton and Linweaver Burke Plot.
http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=jLyi2K-29xU I found this you tube series very helpful when I took biochem. Here's a random lecture when I searched, "Biochem Lecture...". There are 28 lectures, each 45 minutes to an hour long! The powerpoints were very similar to my book too. The best part --> you can rewind and pause. Let your student know!
