whew... so many... go see my LJ. And I think OkCupid does a better job of describing me.
Besides those listed below: I have a great interest in the finer aspects of yoga (hatha and otherwise). I'm a consistent aikido practitioner (currently ranked 1st kyu). I like do do camping and biking a great deal, sometimes together (somewhere I had a blog about my trip from Corvallis, OR to San Fran summer 06). I like to do some basic camping and hanging out with the SCA and related geeky activities. Oh, and gaming (RPGs, console, euro-board, etc.), but that mostly goes along with the geeky things.
I would also, however, like to mention the fact that it is truly amazing that one of the main things all these personal sites do is compare similar media interests. I find it strange that we can learn so much about someone by the media types and styles and stuff they consume, when in reality, each person takes in a piece of media, completely and independently, uniquely. And that our media consumption has become somehow more important and meaningful in our relationships together as humans than comparing, say, our actual real thoughts about things like politics, religion, sexuality, science, destiny and free will. Like, to actually give a real thought and express one's individuality with another human being is somehow too intense and we must veil them by categorized and pre-packaged common media titles.
And yet... you will still find my happy lists contained herein.
Music
I usually like all kinds eventually. I tend to enjoy some genres and types more than others which would include, but are not really all that importantly mentoined as: new age and soundtracks, techno (trance, HHC, goa, world beat), indie rock of lots of kinds, many holidays' music (christmas, halloween mostly), and broadway showtunes. Artists: Deuter, Krishna Das, Loreena McKennitt, David Arkenstone, Enya, Enigma, Deep Forest, Delerium, Dead Can Dance; Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, VNV Nation, BT, Banco de Gaia, Karsh Kale, Madonna; Magnetic Fields/Future Bible Heroes, The Polyphonic Spree, Postal Service, Modest Mouse, Mike Doughty, Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, They Might Be Giants, Tom Waits, The Arcade Fire, The Killers, The Go! Team, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!; Les Miserables, RENT, JC Superstar, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rocky Horror Picture Show. And whatever category Jason Webley fits under, as if he could.
Movies
Fantasy and Sci-Fi and Anime and Indie and Weird stuff. Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Lord of the Rings, Bladerunner, Truman Show, Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Serenity (!), Hedwig, Rocky Horror, Koyannisqatsi Triolgy, Michael Moore Films, ; RahXephon, Evangelion, Azumanga Daioh, Ah! My Goddess, FLCL, Paranoia Agent, Bleach, Full Metal Panic, Interstella 5555. I could go on for a bit, really. Just got onto Nochnoi Dozor...
Television
Actually watching TV is a fairly rare thing for me. I tend to watch more TV on DVD and downloads than anything else. Scrubs is still a fave. Star Trek TNG and Farscape are still classics, Firefly and Serenity are a must, and the new Dr. Who is awesome. Occasionally The Daily Show & Colbert Report when I bother to stay up late enough. Myth Busters! Cartoon Network & [adult swim]! 30 Days! Public television if I remember something good's on, which is almost always (except pledge shows and antiques roadshow). I'd not have a TV if it wasn't for the fact I watch movies; my roommate owns it anyway. He watches, almost exclusively, the cartoon network, so now I do.
And lots and lots of AMVs and other music videos. Lots. Where *does* that fit, huh?
Books
I'm a bibliophile, so I've got lots, or did, before I got rid of a bunch and went traveling. But, I'm trying to get better at at least not buying more than I read. Most of it's philosophy and spirituality subjects. And then Roleplaying. After that a bunch of Short Story anthologies. Older literature. Sci-fi and Fantasy pulp. Some comics. I absolutely love anything from McSweeneys! Recently finished Stranger in a Strange Land. Working on Murakami's Kafka on the Shore--excellent!
Heroes
Big fan of spiritual teachers. There's those Jesus, Buddha, Socrates, and Krishna guys everyone's still talking about. Modern day folks would be Ghandi, Mandela, Krishnamurti, Ramana Maharishi. MLK Jr. was just awesome. Jimmy Carter's pretty nifty too. So's Che. Clinton seemed to have grown his balls back from the operation--taken on the environment, nice. Oh, and Ram Dass is the shit; KD's a superstar!

Well, any writing is good for me, but I'm focusing on novels right now, with some screenplays and other creative non-fiction in the cue. Writing circles welcome.
I love radio as a medium and was a DJ in college for several years. I'd like to get back into it.

About me: So, I'm currently out and about in the wide world. I've left my job, my home, my friends and family (cue crappy country song) and am going to see how well the world at large can handle me. Or, at least until the money runs out and some country kicks me out. I'll try and keep my location here somewhat updated, but no guarantees. Best check my (poorly updated) blogs linked in my blog section.
Nonetheless, wherever you're at, I'd love to meet you!
Who I'd like to meet: I'm a big fan of human beings, but aliens would be cool too. The geekier and weirder the better, really, but having the additional ability to just hang and talk about normal stuff, watch some anime or movies, read a good books, is also a big plus... whatever those are. Oh, and the Dalai Lamma; he just fuckin' rules.
Travel times may vary...
Tokyo (GMT+9)
Incidentally, the video below is Sigur Ros and their more recent album Takk, the track Glosoli. It is truly beautiful. If it doesn't work for you, YouTube also has it.
