My name is Amel and I'm 16. I live in Brussels, the capital of little Belgium. My mother tongue is Dutch but I can also speak French, English, I'm learing German, I can sing in Spanish (I'll soon learn to speak it) and of course Arabic (my language of origin). I'm in my 3rd year of High School, so there are 3 more years to go until I graduate (it's not the same in other countries). Every grade is split up in sort of mayors, I'm learning economics and languages. I love to go to school :p (I know it may seem weird to some of you, LOL), but I'm well surrounded by my loving friends and great teachers. Well, school is very important to me but also my passion for music, SINGING,dancing and acting.
When I was little my mother used to put on music for me every time I woke up. She also sang this sweet little song as I went to sleep. Everywhere I went, I was starting singing even in front of my Grandparents’ television. You couldn't press the stop button. At home they would yell "Amel houd u mond (means, shut up in Dutch, hahaha) !!!" and they still do, LOL!! My friends and family saw that a passion for singing had grown on me more and more as I'm growing up. With all the struggles I'm going through, my friends pushed me to go out there and show my voice but I wasn't so sure if I am good enough (at least I had to try). I saw a lot of people uploading videos of themselves on youtube, so I wanted to do the same thing.I was wondering what other people thought about my voice and if they have some advise for me. Esmée Denters is my inspiration. I asked (lets say begged, LOL) my mom if I could post some videos online, but she didn't at first. So now since June 29th 2007 I've posted six videos on youtube. The first video that I made was "Big Girls Don't Cry" By Fergie.
That summer I sang in public (this time it wasn't in front of my family nor my friends), I was on vacation in Spain, Salou. Every Tuesday the hotel hosted a karaoke night. The last Tuesday of my vacation at the end of the night I sang "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. At my surprise people really liked it, they were even applauding from their balcony. It was the most memorable summer I've ever had!!!
This event really opened my eyes. So, my biggest goal in life until now is to become a singer.

Hey its Sem. Thought I would see how you are. Our myspace is not broked anymore :) The last few days have been a nightmare.
