I have a love in every single genre of music. I think it is very important to have variety in your musical diet, kinda like vegatables. If it grooves and is thought provoking, I'm all about it. To mention a few: Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan, Jurassic 5, The Roots, Old Crow Medicine Show, Ray Charles, Joni Mitchell, System of A Down, Talib Kweli, Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Bob Marley, Gillian Welch, Outkast, Crooked Still, Fiona Apple, Medeski Martin & Wood. Need I say more?? Well...I could, but I would run out of space!
Sounds Like
Kinda folk, kinda not. I like to groove! I dig the acoustic sound. I like to incorporate the singer/songwriter style that was the 60's and 70's with the class and smokey jazz feel of the 20's and 30's. But let's not forget the rock 'n roll. I like to kick your ass, but leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling. I have a unique voice, that is smooth and soulful, over a dark, rich acoustic guitar. Be prepared for finger pickin and slappin. I approach my guitar with a style that some would call unconventional. I call it me! Writing songs is what I do!!
Andra Taylor, yep that's me. I'm a solo acoustic, singer/songwriter. I'm all about political, social, and environmental change. Our leaders are running this country into the ground. But we can't and we won't stand for this anymore! I try to talk about this in my songs because I believe that change is possible. I've been influenced by an elaborate number of musicians in just about every genre. I think music has healing powers. I think music can spread a message. Bob Dylan and Ani Difranco have been two of my biggest influences. I love words. I try to create a spine with words and allow a groove and agressive, but also delicate flow, mold the rest of me. I love what I do! I cannot imagine my life without music. Check out my new album, "For the Record." I'm always uploading new tracks. You can pick up a copy @ the Den and Barnes and Noble in Morgantown, WV, or you can pick one up at my next show. I am grateful to the people who have helped and supported me. You guys rock! Now lets go rally for a new administration that is built on honesty, integrity, and respect. I'm not resting until then......until next time -Andra

It is a great day to be alive! What Question can I ask to empower myself and others? How can I improve the experience of those I encounter today? What can I do to facilitate your Gift?
