Andrew's music combines stirring vocals with an earthy, acoustic instrumental blend.
From the vibrancy of inner-city living to the beauty of the natural world, Andrew's music has been widely influenced by his observations and experiences as a Melbourne boy and keen traveller. In particular his use of the didgeridoo has been inspired by his excursions from the south coast into the interior of Australia and across the Northern Territory.
Andrew spent 2007 and 2008 in the UK where he appeared live in the studio on Exeter FM and BBC Radio Devon, performed at numerous music festivals and supported Dan Crisp (UK) on his South-West Launch Tour. His first album REFUGE has featured regularly on commercial and independent radio since its release in March 2008.
Andrew is now back in Australia performing shows around Tasmania and Melbourne. He has recently performed with Faye Blais (Canada) and Rosie Burgess (Australia).
Audience members have likened Andrew's sound to that of James Taylor and Radiohead.
Debut Album REFUGE
Andrew's debut solo album includes the tracks Summer Days and Beautiful, which reached the number 1 position on Radio Free South West in July 2008 and February 2009, and which also appear on the Radio Free South West: Compilation, Vol. 1 album on iTunes.
The album's title track Refuge was voted in at 5th spot on RFSW in August 2008 and currently features on the Prom Country website for advertising Wilsons Promontory National Park in southern Victoria, Australia.
Andrew is currently working on his second album, due for completion next year. In the meantime you can freely download his new song Bartholomew's Bed - inspired by a couple working their mojo outside his house early one morning. Enough said.
No I wasn't saying that AT ALL!! I know you Aussies like your barbies (and kens too?) but no evidence of excessive grilling as far as I can see..!! Loved the Red Bull ad behind you in the pics - are you a Mark Webber sponsor?!
do you still keep in touch with Charlie or was it just one of those one off meeting? And did he actually give you all those pearls of wisdom or did you expand on it?
