His tunes are influenced by the likes of Guy Clark, John Prine, Ry Cooder, Phil Ochs, John Hiatt, and more such artists. He was a founding member of the rustic-roots band Uncle Wade (http://www.myspace.com/unclewade), a reporter and blogger for The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/dotearth), author of three much-praised books on the environment (more on that at http://www.nytimes.com/revkin ), and teaches at Pace University

    Hey Andy,

    I saw you on a Frontline program tonight I have to say that I agree so whole heartedly with one comment you made that I have to mention it here.

    You said something to the effect that all of this global warming, while extremely important, is still not the end of the world. But it could dramatically change the world we know.

    I think it's vitally important that we don't get overwhelmed by the challenges we need to face, b/c if we get overwhelmed we will run away from them. We need to face them.
