About me:
Artevist is for people who love T-shirts: wearing them, designing them, and talking about them. Most importantly, it's a place for people who believe that T-shirts are a great way to communicate one's views and in some very small, individual way, move others to action. Artevist is for those who believe real change will only occur when activism is fashionably 'in' and complacency is decidedly 'out'.

We know recessions are painful. Hell, it's not doing us any favours, but this one may just be the transformational event this planet needs.
So if you have an idea for a design that tackles the greed and rampant consumerism that got us into this mess, or have thoughts on world trade, peak oil or bailouts to Hummer builders, then enter the "Recession: you say it as if It's a bad thing!" Contest. You could win $700 + 7% Royalty for your work.

New York City’s chic Ultra Lounge was the site of “Designed to a Tee”, a t-shirt-themed fundraising event organized by Orphans International Worldwide (OIWW) in support of their work with children in countries such as Haiti, Indonesia and Tanzania.
Several designers entered the T-shirt judging competition, while others, such as Artevist, donated tees to the fundraising auction. We’re happy to say our Artevist Tees were all snatched up. Dan Ambrose (pic in purple) of Bolt Cutter won top prize for his orphans-themed design “Love is a Verb”.
The event raised $1800 for OIWW, with close to 200 people attending to see great T-shirt design, support an excellent organization, and be entertained by the likes of poetry slammer Orveous Maximus from the Apollo Theater. OIWW hopes to make this a yearly event. To see more pictures, check-out the Forum post.
