Music
Body Music is the oldest music on the planet. Before people were hollowing out logs and slapping rocks, they were most likely using their bodies to express their music and dance ideas. There are traditional Body Music styles all over the world, many of which are practiced today. And there are contemporary practitioners as well, working back through the music one can make using only oneself.
The International Body Music Festival is in development in the San Francisco Bay Area - premiering with a collaboration between Oakland's Slammin All Body Band and Barbatuques from Sao Paolo, Brazil - in concerts and workshops in Oakland and San Francisco, November, 2008.
In 2010 Crosspulse plans to tour the First International Body Music Festival: The Americas, with performers from North & South America. The Festivals that follow will bring out collaborations with Body Musicians from around the world.
