The Boston Music Conference (BMC) is a two-day conference that offers various educational forums, networking opportunities, and exclusive music industry events. The BMC will be held Thursday, September 24th and Friday, September 25th, 2009. The mission of the Boston Music Conference is to educate and empower aspiring talent and entrepreneurs by providing them with the information and tools necessary to pursue a career in music and entertainment. The Boston Music Conference will bring together 1500+ participants from around the country, including artists, entrepreneurs, entertainment personalities, students, major music industry label and corporate representatives as well as publicists and marketers. The schedule of events for 2009 includes workshops, panel discussions and Q&A with top industry executives, showcase performances, an all-star concert bash as well as various social and networking events.

The BMC in 2008 was a tremendous success and featured representatives from the industry's top labels such as Sony/BMG, Motown, Def Jam, Universal, Interscope and Machete Music. The theme of the conference in '08 was Latin music. Amongst the celebrities who attended and performed were Marcy Place and El Lapiz. Other notables included Tainy, Echo, Gerardo Mejia and DJ Creme. The sponsors included MySpace Latino, Telemundo, BMI, AOL Latino, Open Labs and Bud Light as well as many others.

In 2008, one of the most asked questions was, “how do I perform at the Boston Music Conference Showcases”? They understand how important it is for artists to showcase their talent and have expanded that portion of the conference to accommodate a greater number of requests. The 2009 BMC Showcases will be held at the Roxy Tremont Ballroom in downtown Boston on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 7-10pm. There will be major label A&R's present as well as top music industry executives. Your performance will be judged and the winner will receive recognition as well as prizes. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to showcase your work in front of the people who can change you career. You will receive positive and constructive feedback as well.
