In 1989, while in NYC for a wedding, I went to the Hard Rock for lunch. Among the plethora of rock memorabilia, I noticed one of Hendrix's Strats hanging on a wall. Oddly, it was unprotected by plexiglas so, with childlike curiousity, I played with its tone and volume knobs and one simply popped off; so I kept it.
It has been on my '79 Strat ever since.
There is a special place in hell for people like me.
