The Battle is won...
Many have perished in the name of freedom.
Weep not for those who have died.
For they died not in vain.
They are with us in spirit and mind for eternity.
Always remembered by...
THE CRY OF THE BANSHEE!!
Banshee, a melodic power metal band from the Midwest, was founded by Terry Dunn in the mid 1980's. He asked Tommy Lee Flood to join him in this new band after hearing him sing at a local Kansas City club. The songwriting team led the band to make its mark on the metal era. Flood's lyrics and the inspired music of Terry Dunn on guitar joined with Chuck Hopkins on bass and Kent Burnham on drums became what is known as Banshee. The heavy metal band went on to release three albums.
'Cry In The Night' was the band's self-released EP in 1986. The album, 'Cry In The Night,' was later re-released by Metal Blade Records in 1988. The song, 'We Want You' from the album, was also released on the Metal Massacre 9 compilation, by Metal Blade. Cry In The Night is available on iTunes, Amazon, or on CD.
'Race Against Time' was released by Atlantic's Titanium records in 1988. Bill Westfall replaced Chuck on bass just before this album. Fans can download a free track from this album, entitled 'Precious Metal', by joining our fan club at ReverbNation.
The popular 'Shoot Down The Night' video, from this album, aired for six months and reached the hard 30 ranking on MTV's Headbangers Ball. Race Against Time is available on iTunes, Amazon, or on CD.
'Take 'em By Storm,' our third album, came out in 1993 on their own Snowblind Records label and sold out quickly. The band went its separate ways soon after that, until now. The album was re-released in 2008 with an additional unreleased track called 'Live for Music (The Slam)'. Take 'em By Storm is available on iTunes, Amazon, or on CD.
Banshee's first three albums are all now available on iTunes, Amazon and on our official website; BansheeRocks.com
Tommy Lee Flood is a self described Oklahoma-born Air Force brat. Captivating, powerful, and emotionally charged are just a few of the words used to describe Tommy's voice. To hear him sing, is to hear one of the great vocal talents in music today. Flood is a true entertainer.
Kansas City guitar virtuoso, Terry Dunn, handles the role of lead guitar expertly for the band. Listening to Terry play his powerful guitar riffs will have you in awe and begging for more. He is also the song writing force behind the band, creating the incredible music the fans have come to love.
Tyson Leslie, will be filling Bill's position on bass guitar. Well known for his thundering bass, Tyson is constantly writing, recording and performing. He is often on stage five to six nights a week in the Kansas City area.
Kansas City drum legend, Kent Durnham completes the band with his memorable rhythms. He can be found playing frequently with multiple bands around the area.
Banshee, THIS IS IT, I have ONE LAST favor to ask you about this, could I? Since, as you might’ve heard, my picture won at the monthly level & Round 1, I got nominated for the LongHair Hawtie of the Year Finals (!) that ends tomorrow (can you just get it done now?) and... - was hoping for those 6 votes from you ;)
Yeah, you do need to get accepted as a friend of www.MySpace.com/OfficialLongHairHawties before you can vote, but they’re nice girls (the hawtie folks), no harm whatsoever :)
PS. since it till probably take at least 900+ votes for final win over #2 guy (who will give us run for the money, he’s done that before!) - so, an 'evil' thought - maybe you can tell your friends to vote too? ;) Could you ask around?
