After what can only be described as a 'bit of hiatus' we have some news from Kr8z Mansions. The unruly beast that was the Blendaholics live band is taking a cat nap so we've snuck round behind it and been working with Ruthie & her aptly named band: 'The Solutions'.
Ruthie & The Solutions will be performing tracks from the forthcoming Blendaholics album VENUS. Also performing on the night are friends & neighbours the Homelife Duo will be creating wild, inconceivable sonic sounscapes just for you!

After releasing eight tracks on two critically acclaimed limited edition vinyl only EPs, the Blendaholics are back with their debut album: 'Venus'.
Featuring vocals from the fabulous Lou, who appeared on Obsession on EP2 (compared to Cathy Dennis by Sean Keaveney on his BBC6 music show and Grace Slick by Nemone); Ebere who spent much of 2007 performing and recording with The Blendaholics and new recruit Ruthie who has laid down some future jazz classics on the album. Venus is a cleverly crafted collection of tracks which follow on with the vibe and energy of the live performances over the past two years.
Although cutting their teeth as a 10 piece live hip hop band with two MCs and two vocalists. Venus showcases the softer side of the Blendaholics with songs that are reminiscent of Martina Topley Bird, Cath Coffrey, Massive Attacks early albums as well as moments of Prince and Bille Holiday.
The Blendaholics have spent the last 6 months remixing for the likes of the Capoeira Twins and Big Finn, as well as creating radio mixes for Ninja's Solid Steel Radio due to be aired late June 2008. Not putting their hip hop roots out of favour the Blendaholics are also set to release a second LP which will be a bad ass hip hop album featuring Random Barks, The Green Pooki and others.

My New Book: Butterfly Tai Chi: Health, Energy and Tranquility in 10 Minutes a Day
Description
The author was inspired by observing butterflies to develop a system of Tai Chi that could be performed in a limited space and within a relatively short time. He designed Tai Chi movements that naturally enhance the Qi flow in the order directed by Chinese medicine and whilst it can be used to treat a wide variety of illnesses, its real power is in preventing illness. Succinct and effective the reader can learn this form of Tai Chi within a day and can be performed anywhere -no matter how little space available.
About the Author
Martin Faulks has been a student of the oriental martial arts since he was five years old. He has a black belt in the Korean martial art, Kuk Sool Won and is proficient in the mystical disciplines of China including Tai Chi, Meditation, Qi Gong and the legendary form of Yi Jin Jing.
Spring is here and so are the butterflies! This week I have a gallery of a particular group of butterflies called Brushfoots. Brushfoots are the most commonly known and encountered of the large colorful butterflies (excluding the swallowtails) found in Florida and the Americas. These include the monarchs, fritillaries, buckeyes, and the viceroy below (who has nearly identical markings as the toxic monarch butterfly) to keep it from being eaten by birds.... cool trick, huh? :-)
