Bogota Bistro is Brooklyn's only pan-latin restaurant of it's kind specializing in Central & South American cuisine.
Located
along historic Park Slope's restaurant row in Brooklyn,
Bogota
Latin Bistro features a greatest hits approach to regional Central
and South American cooking. Spacious and sunlit , the restaurant
was conceived as a tribute to South and Central America
by its owners, Farid Ali and George Constantinou
who won a $20,000 business plan competition for the restaurant concept.
The menu features dishes inspired by a culinary journey the two
made through Latin America.
After three
years of consistent planning, owners Farid Ali (part Colombian)
and George Constantinou (part Costa Rican) infuse some color into
Park Slope with Bogota Bistro, which opened its doors in July of
2005, to foodies in Park Slope. From the moment you walk through
the doors of Bogota Bistro, you feel like you're at home. Beautiful murals depicting Latino life and Colombian culture line the walls
- and an overall festive ambiance fills the air.
Designed
by architect, Kate
Webb, the décor is festive, with exposed brick painted
beige, aqua, and maroon, hardwood floors and hanging globe lights
in large acrylic "ice cubes." Colorful and dreamy hand-painted
murals adorn the bar and outdoor patio. Bogota Latin Bistro features
a full bar and outdoor patio and can accomodate parties of up to
70 people.
The outdoor
seating is a bonus thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and vibrant
mural, painted by artists Ben Rojas and Miguel Perez, in the background,
where you'll spot Latino greats, like Celia Cruz and Ruben Blades.
