I am writing to you all to ask for your help. As most of you know, my husband Chris is in need of dental help. He has severe infections, cavities, tooth decay, loss and breakage. He was also diagnosed with diabetes last year and suffered a weight loss of over 100 pounds. The severity of his dental problem is not only painful and embarrassing for him, but it has become so relentless that with his diabetes his life could possibly be threatened if he doesn’t get the help he needs. As most of you know, Chris is a father of a total of 4 children. He is the sole provider for our family. He works hard to take care of us but fears that he will never get that dream job that everyone works for, due to his smile. Recently we saw a commercial for a contest called “My Smile Bites” from 1-800-Dentist. Chris has entered this contest, among a few hundred other people from around the United States. The prize is a Dental Make-Over for one winner in the amount of (up to) $30,000. The competition is tough, but after reviewing several videos, I think Chris is not only the most deserving of this prize, but he needs it the most and for the most reasons, including for his health. He wants to be around when his children grow up and without a small miracle it is possible that he may not be in the best health by then or possibly worse. The contest voting begins November 10th and lasts until December 1st. The American people vote for the finalists and then the Dentists will choose the final winner. There are only 21 days to vote, and everyone is allowed to vote once a day. I am pleading with all of you to take a few minutes and vote for Chris EVERY DAY BETWEEN NOVEMBER 10 AND DECEMBER 1. Please do this every day and send this email to all of your friends in your address book, and pass this around as much as possible, even with word of mouth. Prayers and votes are all we need! With your help, and the grace of god, we can all help Chris get the smile he wants, needs
and deserves. Below is Chris’ story and at the end is the link to the contest website. I AM BEGGING FOR HELP FROM ALL OF YOU. Please be the angel that helps Chris get his wish. Thank you all for your time and prayers.
“Hi, my name is Chris. I am 30 years old and from Texas. I am the sole provider for a family of five. I heard about the “My Smile Bites” contest on TV. I was raised in a very poor family with no medical or dental insurance or care. I am currently the manger of a bar in my home town due to being unable to get a better job because of my smile. I make very little money because of lack of experience. Last year, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and don’t have any health care or the means to keep my medical condition under control. According to my own research, there are adverse affects with my mouth constantly being infected and having diabetes. I have constant blood sugar spikes, contributing to my ongoing mouth infections. My job does not offer any type of insurance. At times, I am unable to work because of the swelling, abscess teeth and constant pain. At times I lose income because of it. In my current position at work, it’s hard to smile and joke with new customers and employees. I have a severe lack of confidence because of my smile. My children ask about my teeth all of the time and it is hard to find the words to explain why daddy can’t fix them. I have no outside financial help, no credit, and no where to turn for help. I am always in need of antibiotics to control the infections, with no way to get them. My tooth loss/decay/breakage is so bad that I have broken teeth just from eating a turkey sandwich. I can’t eat certain foods due to the pain it causes. Severe weight loss has also occurred due to being unable to eat right. Eating the proper food to assist in managing my diabetes is impossible, thus making my dental and medical problems a vicious circle with no end in sight. The first thing I would do with a new smile would be to
