Influences
My influences would have to include the boys from Iron Maiden. The pure genius of their work was amazing... something I still find hard to put into words.
Yngwie Malmsteen was very influencial in my playing (as im sure it is with alot of guitarists these days). His virtuousic mix of metal and classical styles inspired to take my technique to a whole new level.
Steve Vai gave me a broader look at music as a whole, and I try not to leave myself playing western music all the time and branch out into different styles of playing.
Joe Satriani was my inspiration to practise more leggato techniques so I think he was quite important as it is prodominent in my playing.
Tony Iommi was a massive influence. He was what got me into guitar in the first place, all those years ago.
Sounds Like
True virtuosic instrumental metal!! <- Nick "loser" Ioannou wrote that. I dont even know what a "virtuosic" is.
Hey, Can here. Just a little about my band. After leaving Metallian, one thing I wanted to have was a variaity of styles.
Nick: Nick is my rhythm guitarist. He was my first and more or less only choice as he has such a great bluesy feel (guitar wise!). He interprets this into Rock/Metal so well, i just couldnt pick anyone else!
Bob: This fellow is a long time companion for me, he has been around for my first jam till my last band (this one). Though hard to believe, he just keeps on improving himself and recently I found him in the best musical shape I have ever seen a drummer! Again, like Nick, he has a fuckin great feel when hes playing.
Zach: He just fuckin owns but were looking for another bass player as he is in Select Few (See our friends list, there pretty good).
In this band, im trying to capture the essence of a jam, were the music is free and energetic. However, in saying this, i am a perfectionist when it comes to recording so i sometimes can take hours recording track untill everything is perfect. Also, i want to integrate metal with some more "exotic" styles like Turkish and Indian as i found that they fuckin' rock!
If you dont like the music, you can always ask for a form that you can obtain at the end of gigs. All you have to do is fill it in with your complaints, roll it up, and shove it up your ass!
