About me:
I am a voice teacher and singer based in the Washington, DC area, working with singers in many styles of music, beginners through professionals. In addition to a grounding in classical vocal pedagogy, I use the latest discoveries in Voice Science, innovative teaching methods for popular and commercial singing, and body awareness work such as Yoga, Tai Chi and Alexander Technique. I also intuit within my own body the physical and emotional blocks in singers and use this information to develop a systematic plan of strengthening and release for students.
Most recently I sang a full program of Nordic Art Song at the New House of Sweden in DC, for the Smithsonian Resident Associates. I have worked mostly singing Contemporary Chamber Music, collaborating with amazing American composers such as Lori Laitman, Clare Shore and the late John Cage, but I have also sung lead operatic and musical theater roles from Mozart to Chris Patton. I basically don't know what I want to be when I grow up....
