Simple version: We picked up some instruments and started twangin'... The rest is like, history.
Valley version: or...this person knew this person from , like , that band, and she was like, let's do it, and she said, ah yeah, and they asked this guy and he said sure and then some come and go and then that guy moved here and he was like "Yeah!" and then somebody sipped some whiskey or tequilia or both, blew out a bunch of smoke and said "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Charm School Dropouts

CharmSchoolDropouts.com
Fronted by the vivacious Angel Xstacy, Charm School Dropouts, is a quartet of seasoned and world-wise rock pros each incarnating from other bands and projects into this mega-slut superforce able to rant at anything and slither in a single chord to new lows while keeping the sass, sensual angst and sly wink at a fevered pitch. Balls-to-the-walls, take-no-prisoners rock ‘n roll as was intended and yea shall it be. My picks: “Pity Party,” “Dude Sleeve,” “Make Me,” “Shove It,” “Ego Food” and “Neurotica.” Gig alerts! Charm school dropouts fail etiquette tests June 16 @ Oakland’s Starry Plough and June 29 @ San Francisco’s Thee Parkside
Don Baird - Super Star Columnist says:
You can tell right away that The Charm School Drop-outs are all about fun, fast, filthy and fuck you with songs clocking in at one and a half to two minutes usually with titles like “High on Pussy”, “Bitter,” “Shit for Brains,”etc. These blasts of punk rock force are a joyous assault, built for speed and ready to mow you down laughing. Vocalist Angel X whom you may recognize from her previous band Venus Bleeding and maybe from your occasional visits to Good Vibrations where she works, is a great front person with a powerful voice and a humorous demeanor and plenty of tough girl attitude. Voluptuous, tattooed and naughty in fishnets, the shortest black skirt and red eyeshadow (a color not everyone can pull off and in the rules of stage makeup is standard for portraying insanity so that rocks) she was charming, engaged and occasionally unhinged, throwing down some serious screams and nailing the lyrics with animated flourish.
Guitar player Dave Stacy formerly of Midnight Bombers is a slender, tattooed and handsome guy, well versed in the furious fast assault while maintaining a sort of calm stage demeanor. He is also Angel’s husband, which casts a nice sort of wholesome tone to the groups identity, in that tattooed, smutty rock and roll man and wife sort of way. It seems that everyone in the band contributes in the songwriting department, which means Mister Nancy has penned a few of these songs herself, an ability she never really flexed in her former band and her songs are good. It’s about time she let loose with them. One of the funnier songs they do is called “Dude Sleeve” about a relatively new marital aid or sex toy you may have seen in your better dirty bookstores or Good Vibrations, and how one man falls completely in love with his. Usually at their shows they’ve been able to throw a few dude sleeves to the audience, likely floor models provided by good vibrations but they were out of them tonight. I don’t know if I could fall in love with one but they are fun. I want one. Dude Sleeve—ask for it. Angel’s co-workers who came to the show all seemed to be sharing a private laugh over this. I should also point out that the video monitors were showing some really cheesy fairy tale based soft porno during their set, which cracked me up. Over all I thought Charm School Drop-outs were very good considering they’ve played only a small handful of gigs so far. You can hear for yourself by going to My Space.com and finding their band page. They have four songs streaming there including “Dude Sleeve.” They’ll be playing dates near you soon, look for them, you won’t be disappointed.

A young person informed me that Angel X is the next Glenn Danzig and that the Charm School Dropouts are the next Misfits. I know now that the CSD must carry on this tradition.
I just got a call this morning that Charm School Dropouts are booked at the Bottom of the Hill on Monday, June 16th with the Mad Caddies! Coo! Yay, a cool way to send your b-day! Thanks BOTH!
