After a period of rest lasting sixteen years the Chartists reformed with a new lineup.
We played a short spot at Newport Folk Club recently, at the end of which someone yelled "They're back!". Yep, I guess we were, temporarily.
That one off performance included Laurence Eddy; Wynford Jones; Geri Thomas and Nigel Hodge.
And that was that!

Sounds Like
We don't really sound like anyone else, and are happy to keep things that way.
Named after the Chartist movement of the 19th century, The Chartists were formed from members of the Islwyn Folk Club in 1979. Two UK albums were produced: "The Chartists" in 1982 was a concept album focusing on the Chartist movement itself, and the Monmouthshire uprising of 1839. The second album "Cause for Complaint" followed in 1987 & was released in Germany under the Hypertension label (see website for details).
